I can agree with most of that. But, it's also not an either or thing. Yes, their are mfs like the ones you describe. But, I don't think they're the majority and they shouldn't be conflated with those people who are more casual about it. They aren't gooners. They have full and happy lives outside of gaming. Yet, still don't understand why wanting to see idealized female characters in fantasy media is a bad thing. Especially when no one complains, or even desires to see, average looking males heroes. People forget that the majority of gamers are male. And, when creators mute the beauty, of what should be a physically stunning female character, but leave the male characters looking they could take your girl just by posting a picture in the chat, it makes them think wtf?

Prior to current 21st century social indoctrination, mythological & fantasy characters were all described or depicted as "average" looking humans. Idealized depictions of fantasy characters are a modern socially engineered thing. Go back & look through both the centuries and the decades of the 20th century and see how depictions of fantasy characters have evolved based on what the current social standard considered "idealized".

New Avengers' Ongoing Series Coming in November

    Publisher's description:

Marvel Comics will launch a new ongoing Avengers series by writer Chip Zdarsky and artist Marco Checchetto in November, following the events of the five-issue Avengers: Armageddon (debuting June 10). The team will include Spider-Man, Wolverine, Captain Marvel, Daredevil, Luke Cage, and a new hero yet to be revealed. Zdarsky says the post-Armageddon roster is “angry as hell and ready to avenge.”

Avengers #1 releases November 4, 2026, with multiple variant covers and a “True Believers Blind Bag” program featuring exclusive, unlisted variants, including sketch covers.

I know it won't happen due to the corporatization of all things media, but can Marvel just go back to the basics? No more events & rebooting status quo every six moths to a year. Let whatever creative teams that are assigned to whatever titles just tell stories and build characters. Fuck all the corporate mandated bullshit trying to serve a bottom line.

I have mixed feelings about this. Ocarina of Time is my favorite game in the Legend of Zelda series, so remaking it almost feels sacrilegious to me. I will definitely play it when the opportunity arises, and I hope I love it as much as the original—or at least like it a whole lot. lol

Reminds me of the 90s when everything had a foil hologram cover, and they were killing off and resurrecting characters every 6 months, just to create a new Issue #1.

That was the infancy stage for what we are seeing now. The small businessmen types who were running things back then pushed out comics to cater to faux collectors & investors rather than cater to an established readership/fan base. Fast forward to today and a fully media corporation owned Marvel is nothing more than a pimp for superhero related IP content. The way they run business I'm surprised they haven't already pulled the plug on the comic book publishing side of things claiming it is outdated & unprofitable. I won't be shocked in the least if/when they actually do it.

Anyone playing First Light? I just started playing. So far, it's fun. Nothing deep or complicated. Just some lightweight fun.
