Ahmadinejad vs Obama: biting the hand that feeds

I'm still not aware of Iran having done anything to the US to warrant this kind of treatment. And the world's not gonna come to and end just because Iran may possess nuclear weapons. No amount of fear-mongering by war hawks is gonna change that

 

Perfect scenario...for inflaming the whole middle east from Egypt to Syria.

 

This wouldn't be the first time, and the entire ME was not inflamed, in fact many here are probably not even aware that Israel did the exact same thing to Syria less than 2 years ago:

Iranian Leaders Fault Obama, Warn Israel Again

TEHRAN, March 4 -- Iranian leaders said Wednesday that President Obama follows the "crooked ways" of his predecessor, repeated earlier warnings that Iranian missiles could reach Israel and reiterated that the Holocaust was "a lie."

 

IN the next 6 months or year, i honestly am beginning to think Israel will strike Tehran.

Hearing the Israelis' objections to the planned sale of F-15 fighters and missiles to the Saudis, State Department official Andrew Shapiro argues for "a commonality of interests with the Gulf States, which also view Iran as the preeminent threat."

"We should take advantage of this commonality," he says.

Shapiro's line appears supported elsewhere in the Wikileaks trove, which includes an account of Saudi Arabia urging the United States to attack Iran preemptively.

One Arab leader echoes Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by likening Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Hitler. Another voices empathy for Israel in considering offensive military options against its arch-foe.

The least the USA could do is apologize to Iran for overthrowing President Mossadegh in 1953. He was democratically elected and we installed Shah Mohammad Pahlavi in his place. The shah was a horrendous dicator, and Khomeini and his followers rebelled against Pahlavi's repression and created the Islamic Republic of Iran. The rest is history.Our country is indirectly responsible for creating the Islamic Republic of Iran. Making a small apology for what the government did in 1953 would help improve our relationship with Iran.

 

This strategy is a failure. We have tried it for 30 years and it has produced no change in Iran's regime or Iran's actions towards us.

 

The elites in our country cannot accept that the USA and western culture are not superior to non-western nations or that colonialism really ended. The world is no longer the west's playground. That is the source of the problems underlying our foreign policy ethos. What we need is a paradigm shift in which we accept reality. These people have the right of self-determination without our interference.
