Yeah, I do think that America has some better looking guys than we do here, but we're so little! Haha. I really like the Southern accent on American black guys too, mm. But my number one weakness is black Brazilians :smt055
That was my initial thought as well, but Fly Girl does not come off to me as that type. Frankly, I think Books (who voted "only in the mind of Americans") said it best. There is no 'best' country. Perhaps a 'best for you' country., but even then I have a hard time accepting the credibility of anyone with no stamp in their passport (or hell, even a passport for that matter) and minimal knowledge of World History. Also, the image that a lot of foreigners likely have of the US based on what is seen on the news or in the movies is a gross misrepresentation.
The poll is meaningless because it doesn't explain what criteria should be used to determine "greatness"; moreover, it also relies on the opinions of people who've never set foot in the United States, and the opinions of some Americans who probably haven't left the country as well.
I tapped your rep, thanks on behalf of black american bros. If you guys spent some time in the US I think you'd like it and want to stay. In my opinion, the US is simply a combination of various parts of the rest of the world.
Not really, it just blew me away that people could believe the US is the best country ever to exist. Of coarse it is all biased, everyone will have their own criteria, and it is simply opinion.
Which, in history, do you think have had an equal or greater impact economically, militarily, philanthropically, politically or culturally?
I voted for the greatest present day but not of all time, I have no idea how other countries and nations lived waay before I or my parents parents, parents were born, that said. As an arrogant American we are the shit for all the good and bad reasons. Name another country where people wish to migrate to hand over fist, name another country who's currency is distributed more, name another country who's popular culture is more desired devoured or emulated For all the good and bad reasons we are what we are and that's a gun shootin, rebel rousing, fun loving, smart, war mongering country. God Bless America, and god may you bless other countries to rival us to keep out arrogant asses in check!
The greeks for one. Their impact is still felt in this world. And like i said, what impact will we still have on the world hundreds of years from now? This thread was about personal opinion, I personally started it to hear others. I could care less if you have stamps on your passport or if you have a masters in history. Everyones opinion has value. Unless you are a fence rider. LOL
Then why participate? It is serious question. Is it because you wanted to have an affect on those who do choose to partake?
Thanks, I'll hit ya back when I can. You're right, if I didn't have the ties I do here I would probably want to live there.
It may be a serious question, that does not make it a good one. The topic is incendiary, plain and simple. I have no idea how my post would 'affect' those who choose to participate.
KG can you explain why the present day USA isn't the greatest nation to ever exist? Is it the greatest in the last 100 years?
Hhm,,,,,very subjective however I think the answer is WHATEVER….That is, America is whatever the fuck it is to who-ever the fuck considers this fucking question, and no number of facts and data is going to persuade ANYBODY. America, just like any other nation is like an ocean, completely and entirely unconcerned (or oblivious) with what people think of it, it just does what it does. Some people sail great distances, catch tons of fish with the littlest amount of bait, and some see nothing but obstacles [stress], opportunities lost or already possessed by somebody else, and a never ending-pending damnation. (Nice excuse ofcourse.) The ocean however just continues to do what it does, you see? My mind set is also like America [The Ocean], you see, I just do what I do.
