I was in a grocery store today, and I let a woman with her kids get in front of me in line. She smiled and said thank you. I always, Always help the elderly carry things, like bags, or help then cross the street or walk down stairs. I helped a blind man cross the street last week. I like doing good deeds. It makes me feel good.
I went grocery shopping in my coffee break today (I never take a break, but today I needed too) and my boss carried all of my groceries to my car for me. It felt nice.
This thread inspired me... I think Im gonna incorporate this into my daily routine. Everyday- I have made it a habit of always mention 5 things I am greatful for. I will try to incorporate at least one random act of kindness per day.
It's inspired me too. I loved reading it. There's a young gentleman from the Dominican Republic who is working on my apartment building this week. Every time he sees me approach, he comes down off his scaffolding and carries whatever happens to be in my hands (groceries, boxes, etc). Such a sweetheart! I bought my friend a 'Rip It' two days ago (similar to Red Bull), does that count? lol
Love opening doors for ladies. If I get a "thank you", great. If not, I at least get to peep the booty as they pass (and get to do so for longer if we happen to be headed in the same direction, since they'll be in front of me from that point). Ends up being a win-win situation either way......yep, random acts of kindness rock!!!
I'm quite generous really if someone is short when paying at the till I sometimes give them the money they are short if i've got it. I gave money to a homeless man last week £3 not much but i hope it helped, if an elderly person is in front or behind me at the checkout, when it comes to unloading there trolley i always help them get it on the belt. Well uhmm I was round my pals house 2 weeks ago and put up a blind for her while i was there.
I love this thread! Well, me being a social worker, I have to do things that you would define "kind" like 2355 times a day. It's nice when I get kindness back too. Old people are great for that. They brought me some chocolate from Switzerland, too
I was at a starbucks like coffeeplace. I was coming from a job interview and the guy asked me that. I said yes,and he let me have free coffee. I wasn't expecting that. So that was nice. MY random acts are simple. Open doors for people, etc
Yo, I dig your signature. I have 'Coded Language' posted in my cube at work. I try to listen to Saul recite it a couple of times a month...very powerful. Peace Raul !
When I'm home and park somewhere where I actually have to pay, I usually keep an extra quarter in my pocket, if I walk past a car on the way to where I'm going with an expired meter, I pop the quarter in. It gives the car owner an extra 20 minutes at least. (Considering that the only place I really have to pay for parking is at the hospital or when going to doc appointments)
I stepped out of a store today and observed a guy digging thru trash and he drunk the last lil swig of pop out of this old ass container which disgusted me so I called him over and treated him to lunch.
My daughter and I were eating lunch at McDonald's yesterday. My daughter took the tray to throw it out. As she got up, she heard coins drop to the ground and saw an old man bend down to pick one up, but he didn't get another one. She put the tray down, grabbed the coin and gave it to him. I didn't have to say anything to her, she did it all on her own. Anyway, the man smiled at her and said thank you and then he gave me a big smile and waved to me. It was a small gesture, but it made his day, her day and my day. :smt023
