I'm going to vote in a little bit. I'm voting more for the propositions since my vote for President is irrelevant here in California. Even though I've had some spirited debates with people on here, I'm glad people are exercising their right to vote.
you betcha...been a proud, registered & active voter for 24 years; damn, giving my age away :smt081 :smt081 :smt081
Yes I did...I voted at lunch time....I will be glad when this election is over, because I will not be asked by co -workers who am I voting for...when the choices were two males, no one cared to ask me who am I voting for...When I voiced my opion on the subject, I was surprised that I did open a few eyes on the subject...mostly from my female co-workers. Have a Great Day....Better yet have two great days and give one away...The Joy of Giving
I voted last Tuesday. I didn't feel like dealing with long lines today, even though voting in Georgia wasn't nearly as bad as it was in some other states.
A problem indeed ... I didn't vote, but I stood in line for 2 hours with my roommate to keep her company. She got two stickers and gave one to me.
My grandaddy was an Alabama coal miner. He was a member of the UMW, even as a black man in the 1930's, so that is why I am a strong union supporter, though it is not fashionable. My grandaddy also marched with Dr. King in Selma, and was a victim of what we now call voter suppression. In those days, they used things like poll taxes and literacy tests to keep black people from voting. Everytime they denied my grandfather the chance to vote, he always told them, "I'll be back"...and he kept coming back. I adored that man. And in his memory and in gratitude for his sacrifices, I was one of the first people in line on Tuesday morning to cast my vote.
