Just curious as to what people's hosting skills are like?

I remember talking to a friend who moved into a new place who had other friends over. She sent them packing the next day and told me she wasn't a good host.

I am even worse than that. I don't invite people over for shit. There is maybe one friend who I would let stay over, but even dogged him when he showed up with a sick girlfriend a few years ago. I just don't like having people in my spot, what about you?

If I invite people over for a party, I'd make sure I have everything that my guests could want to eat or drink. I'd have food for about every taste. A place to sit down and the right music to enhance the atmosphere(or no music at all depending on the event since it could be a sporting event party). But, I don't have that opportunity to be a host. This is what I'd do if I did host a party.

If I'm hosting, I feel that it is my responsibility to make sure people are enjoying themselves.

    That's too much work.

I'm not a big fan of people who "pop" round on the off chance, I have people over for Lunch and BBQs, my house is not really big enough for a party...party though.

I had some of my partners relatives over to stay, I must say it stressed me out, all I did was cook and clean up, plus his cousin was an A-hole.

I'm an ok host when I'm prepared for it and I have a sister in law who is some kind of super host so she is always around for family gatherings I have. I let her take over :D

I did Christmas at my house the year before last, I put a walled gazebo up and a space heater in it and run some leads out there, so I put the ps3 out there for the kids.

It was stressful and I didn't really enjoy it, so I don't think I'm a great host to tell you the truth.

:smt042 Don't blame you for dogging him. I don't even like to work around sick people, definitely don't want them at my spot. Notice how a lot of people don't do the simple things that could reduce the frequency of them getting sick. I value the simple things like working out, feeling good, breathing thru my nose, tasting my food ect.. Not coughing loogies n shit. So see ya when you feel better. :smt042

I love hosting family and friends at my house. I do parties anytime I can...thanksgiving, Super Bowl, birthdays, Tuesdays...whatever. I love cooking and prepping everything and I love making people feel at home in our house. What's ours is theirs when family/friends are in our home :)

Anyone who knows me, knows that I LOVE to host house parties. Nothing beats a home cooked meal surrounded by good friends, some good drinks & music!!:smt048 I have many russian friends & we party hard -))It does involve a ton of work but I enjoy it! & it gets easier the more you do it ...Plus it makes me happy that I have a home that people want to visit and seem to have fun in :drinkers: The only thing I dislike is the clean-up next day :x

    This....

I never invite and always decline so that they don't say oh invited you that one time.

You wouldn't mind me by, I have a healthy mix of OCD tendencies and fun seeking ways. With that said, it's hard to open your spot to uncertainty, but I usually make it through keeping my good host tag.
