You know, sweeping generalisations expose one thing; stupidity, lewd misunderstanding and ignorance.

I was thinking the same thing when I read it too, Cris, since all of my experiences with American black woman weren't as colorful as some of these guys in here make them out to be.

*women don't actually take a song like this seriously--do they?

No my fiancee is Latina, not African-American. Although i must point out that it makes no difference whatsoever. Lest, i know what you (and Jerome) are onto. Look, African-American women come in all kinds, just as much as any other ethnicity of women. There are silly and intelligent ones, beautiful and ugly ones, tall and short ones, dark skinned and light ones; enough of the rambling, you get the point. For every idiotic and immature one, there are two-fold great ones. Never mind the fact that i have only seriously dated one black American girl. Still, the point you and Jerome are trying to prove carries no reasonable weight at all. Whilst growing up and till today, i know, have met and see many intelligent, mature, classy black women who interest me irrefutably and would attract my attention any time. So, just because some of them are classy, that means every single black woman is? Ummmm no. Equally, it would be utterly insane and more importantly stereotypical of you to assume that "Shaniqua" and "Tameka" represents every single woman of the African-American persuasion. Big deal, three females decide to state that they like the "thugs up top from the BK"? Newsflash, it is only a song. Half or three quarters of the songs pop culture produces makes any sense or has any real meaning to it whatsoever. These girls claim to like the "soldiers" but i am pretty sure they have different agendas. Michelle is probably dating a "clean" guy, Kelly was dating a football player, not a Crip, Blood or anything like that and finally, Beyonce is dating the President of Def Jam Records and multi-millionaire rap mogul Jay-Z. Now prove to me that either that song had a different interpretation or was just something to gain attention or perhaps record sales? (However, it must be said that Jay-Z does not necessarily possess a clean record but blah...)

My point is, not every single black woman likes the 50 Cent type of guy. I am aware of the whole "good girls love bad boys" theory but there you have it, good girls. Good women detest and will have nothing to do with a stupid crime-prone ignoramus who cannot keep a job and has 7 kids with 6 women. Girls and women have their similarities and differences. The similarity is that they are both female species but there are countless differences between them which i feel you are old enough to exploit yourself. Your whole outlook on black women is very silly, misunderstood and general and whilst i am by no means trying to change any of that, it would make sense to look at other perspectives and see that it is not as bleak as some people make it out to be. You do not date black women, fine. You have to put them down and come up with asinine comments as to why you do not date them? Not sensible.

What are you REALLY getting at? Why do you need to draw a correlation, if even when there is none?

Let me state the obvious: you're talking the talk but not walking the walk. If you thought African-American women were so great, and you cared so much, you'd be engaged to one, end of story. All else is merely lip service. Thanks for playing.

Of course i think African-American women are great, just like every ethnicity of women. You seem to have a profound hatred, or should i say, dislike of African-American women stemming from an obviously far-fetched and rather exaggerated bigoted view of them. I do not wish to go further with this as it is getting redundant but making a few individuals speak for a whole group is very silly. They obviously do not act, talk, and see things the same way. Some might but not all. I am not trying to change your opinion of black women but i'd tell you this; its not as bleak as you are making it out to be.

I don't think things are bleak at all, and I don't "hate" anyone either, just being real in this discussion. "Keeping it real" is such a cliche yet one does it, there's a problem. Just pointing out a tiny bit of hypocrisy on your part, that's all. It's called "putting your money where your mouth is," which you are clearly not doing. You can dance around it if you like, but that's the gist.
