Since that last Democrat debate between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, there has been a fury on the question of whether each of them would accept the other on the ultimate dream ticket of a H/O or a O/H. The media has been in a hysteric over this pop question from one of the host of CNN. Since that question was popped evey television news show has brought it up with much favorable comments from whites, especially white women until today. On ABC with Chris Matthews a black female journalist named Mrs. Tucker out of Georgia said that it will never happen because America is not ready for a woman (she left out white) and a black man being on the same ticket. She indicated that the symbolism of this is too much for America to accept. After the comment 50 Cents made on FOX News about Barack never will be the nominee because someone will kill him because America is not ready for a black president i ask the question of blacks, when will a black man ever be ready for the highest office whether he runs for the office or is the VP pick. It seems to me that blacks have such a low expectation of their own than the whites. As far as the white woman and black man dream ticket. I think it's a fascinating idea to have the two representing real change since the two represent long taboos of not to be together whether socially, interracially, or politically. Perhaps this mix is too hot to stir together for many in our country.

like i said in another thread..that would be good...

i would prefer to have our first black president, but I would settle if he was VP with Hilary, or vice-versa..

very monumental for the 21st century..

    as far as assasination..

many presidents have had attempts on their lives..

it's only a "black thing" if we have a black president..

    Lincoln was assasinated...
bush sr had an attempt on his life..
    reagan had an attempt..
    jfk was shot dead..

    etc..

the possibility of assasination is color-blind, and is the impetus for the prescence of a "secret service."

as for reasons why to assasinate Obama...i'm pretty sure that many people in "regressive white amerika" (not the progressive ones) would rather be dead, than live in a nation ran by someone they would call a dumb ni**er on the street...

Hilary is a woman, but she's still white...and she has that going for her, if it came down to skin color

i've thought about that for a while, Hillary and Obama on the same ticket.

First off, I dont think its so much that Black Americans have a low sense of self worth in this case, I think that people for the most part are cynical and careful to back a real black leader. I mean it's not like the last time a black man that really moved the people ended up getting shot or anything right?

    In the bigger picture:

Really, a better thing to focus on besides such a silly thing as a WOMAN president or a BLACK president is WHICH president will know how to handle our current predicament in the global economy. America is not #1 anymore, we are more accurately #1 of 3 major powers( USA, China, EU).

So any president/cabinet that knows/understands that now is NOT the time to go wild west on the things should be of some significance. If Americans are still caught up on really basic basic basic things like race/gender(which we are) I think we can essentially wave goodbye to America. I say this because I think we are spending our energy on the wrong things.

I have mixed feelings on this issue. Perhaps having representation of what a national leader other than a white male is an idea whose time as come.
