Being a black man i sometimes reflect on how unfeeling and inhuman this world can be toward someone like me. The one thing i think and i cannot speak for all black men is how much a woman's love can be like shield for me against a world that cares less for me. Having that love from a woman gives me the strength to wake up each day and know that there is someone in my corner no matter what the circumstances are at that time. The one thing i fault my fellow brothers and that is the lack of respect many of us show toward the women who love us. Anyone here feel as i do that a woman's love can be the one factor that make us or break us as men in a hostile world?

Yes. I don't know if I'd go so far as "make us or break us"....We're a pretty strong group of men, which is why we are so feared by all other men.

But, can a good woman make a huge difference in your life and help you to become the man that even shocks and overwhelms her????

    OH YES!

    RE: Personal feedback

Yes, I must agree with BronzeSaint because we are a small minority of men; however, as black men our vagueness is set apart from other classes of men because we are not prideful and selfish. I'm using a text from a lady in another forum that stated, "There seems to be a depth of understanding in a man of color, that most white men lack."

In my opinion, what she said is very true. Also, women are sensitive creatures by nature, and "yes" a good woman 'will' and she is capable for making every positive transformation in a man's life.

Ummm, I'm going to step in here and ruin the party:

I don't deny Black men offer a unique presepctive on life and issues that may or may not be as prevalant among White men. As well as physical gifts. But to assert that a race has a greater monopoly on morality and human understanding is something straight from the Hitler/KKK playbook.

Racism is the belief race determines our standards of beahvior and actions, and as a result, one is superior to another. By this very definition, I have not read a more racist comment in an extremely long time.

Judging by my White mom's prescence in my life, and my Black father's non-prescence, I'd say this post (and woman) is full of shit.

Well, I am the woman who had been quoted speaking of black men having a depth that most white men are lacking. Look, I am not a racist, despite your definition. I have been with white men my entire life, and I am tired of the shallowness of heart I have experienced. I have noted a depth in black, certain black men. You cannot put a label on any human being. It is an observation of mine and mine alone. If you noticed I used the word MOST white men. So, I am truly sorry your black father left your family, but this is not the issue or point being made. As a black man it sometimes pains me for some of the things my racial gender does toward the women in their lives. I only hope that all black men are not stereotyped to be a certain type if you know what i mean. It makes it hard for the rest of us when the few damages our image in the world.

American society is shallow. I'm sorry you've run into assholes and yes white society does have some issues in terms of how people define what's importaint in a realtionship. But then again, it would be wrong of me to define Black men by rap videos or white women by movies like "Valley Girl". I've had bad experiences with white women and have even been met with racism. But I don't post about white women being racist.

I'm glad you've found happyness with Black men but people are not to be judged by the color of their skin.

Oh, and please, everyone says they're not "racist"
