_Are black (duh!) Yes I am _Support school vouchers I don't mind the concept _Support/oppose abortion, with exceptions I think abortion is a state issue. The federal government should stay out of it _Support some gay rights, but not marriage Marriage is private. The state has no business being involved _Support lower taxes for all but rich folks If we're gonna have taxes, then all should pay an equal share of their income, i.e. someone who makes 200K/year and someone who makes 20K/year should both pay 5%. I don't like the idea of making the 200K/year earner pay a higher percentage because he earns more. That's punishing success _Favor integration over assimilation I think we're all Americans. We should try to get along _Support gun ownership, with restrictions I believe in the 2nd Amendment. People have the right to bear arms. It's that simple. Government should respect our rights _Favor an internationalist foreign policy I'm tired of goin around the world looking for monsters to destroy. It's against the Founding Fathers and it creates animosity towards America. Let's defend freedom here in America _Like President Bush I more than President Bush II I really didn't care for either one, to be honest _Are "squishy middle" on affirmative action Racial/gender preferences are wrong. Individuals should be hired because they're the most qualified for the job. Any preferences by private sector businesses should be voluntary _Like Colin Powell more than Clarence Thomas Clarence Thomas is ok with me. There are some things he's ruled on the bench that I have not agreed with, but he hasn't been any worse than any other justices. Powell is too internationalist for my tastes _Mainly support one political party, but do swing vote I pretty much support politicians who believe in individual rights, limited government, non-intervention, peace, and free-enterprise _Favor a welfare state, but believe it is currently too high I dislike the welfare state. It rewards people who don't work. It violates the 10th Amendment. It's more wasteful spending by government _Believe racism poses an obstacle, but so does victimology rhetoric There were bad things that happened in the past, but that's the past. It's a lot better now for everyone. If you work hard and are determined, you can succeed _Believe black Americans should have some ties to Africa, but focus on USA I believe every American should focus on this country. This is where we live. Any sort of foreign aid to any country should be absolutely voluntary
Are black (duh!) - Yep, with beautiful caramel skin. Support school vouchers - I favor bolstering the quality of public education and demanding greater parental involvement in the academic life of their children. Vouchers are a less universal solution. Support/oppose abortion, with exceptions - I support abortion under any and all circumstances and don't think that it is the state's business when and why a woman decides to have one. I also favor a greater investment in sex education to drive home the point that abortion is not a healthy method of birth control. Support some gay rights, but not marriage - I support civil rights for all Americans, and think that the Constitution is meaningless when certain groups are singled out as being not worthy of the equal protection clause in the 14th Amendment. I also favor doing away with the business of the state recognizing marriage, or any religious ceremony, whatsoever and let all such agreements between consenting individuals of age to be termed civil unions for the purpose of legal considerations. Change the language from marriage to civil unions for gay, het, and everything in between. Support lower taxes for all but rich folks - I support a progressive rate of taxation for all except for those who fall below the "poverty line." My cringe muscle would not react to the idea of a person earning $200,000 annually paying 40% of it in taxes. Nope, not at all. Favor integration over assimilation - I favor assimilation for all groups into a secular culture that regards science and philosophy as being of greater value than superstition. Blacks, whites, Arabs, Jews and everyone else should drop their Bibles and Korans down the trash chute and choose to become faithful to each other and the Earth. In the future, America will be exactly like this. I guarantee it. Support gun ownership, with restrictions - I favor severe restrictions on gun ownership with virtually no citizen being allowed to own or carry a firearm under any circumstances. Favor an internationalist foreign policy - International cooperation with force being used only when other nation-states present an imminent threat to our national security. According to this researcher, terrorist groups are rarely defeated by military force. http://www.esquire.com/features/best-and-brightest-2008/how-to-end-terrorism-1208 Like President Bush I more than President Bush II - George H.W. Bush is the one who used the racist Willie Horton ad (see Lee Atwater) to get elected right? I am left of the Democratic Party, which means that my opposition to its policies are only amplified when I'm presented with the Republican alternatives. Are "squishy middle" on affirmative action - I support AA, but also think that African-Americans are also the most talented people on Earth. I don't mean blacks in general or even Americans as a whole, but specifically African-Americans. The black people of America are the most talented people since the Germans of the 18-19th centuries. Just as the German speaking world produced Mozart, Beethoven, Goethe, Nietzsche, Bismarck, Marx, Freud, Wagner and many others, African-Americans have produced Ellington, Miles, MLK, Robeson, Morrison, Baldwin, and Obama. The sooner more blacks recognize their ability to manipulate the elements of the universe and not just be stronger and faster, but smarter the less we'll need government intervention to rectify past wrongs. Like Colin Powell more than Clarence Thomas - Colin Powell blatantly lied to the UN about Iraq harboring WMD. Living that down will take a lot of hard work on his part. Mainly support one political party, but do swing vote - I swing between Democratic and third party candidates. Favor a welfare state, but believe it is currently too high - I favor a strong safety net: good unemployment benefits, universal healthcare, job training programs for laid-off workers. Believe racism poses an obstacle, but so does victimology rhetoric - Blacks can destroy any opponent you throw at us. Believe black Americans should have some ties to Africa, but focus on USA - Some ties yes, but what Africa needs most is reparations from Western nations who've plundered its resources for centuries.
Why did I have a feeling you were lighter-skinned. And also lean, of medium height, and your hairstyle is a fade.
The last time i looked, yes To a certain extent, i do As a Catholic, i have issues with the principle, but don't want to see it criminalized. It is not incumbent on the government to designate who should get married, and who shouldn't so i support gay rights and marriage. I support lower taxes for all Americans, but im a realist on the issue. In some instances, some Americans ought to pay more than others. Given that we have yet to come to a universal and agreeable definition of what "integration" is, i think i prefer assimilation. Whilst i have no intention of impugning the 2nd Amendment and support gun rights, we'd be foolish in believing that there should be absolutely no gun regulation whatsoever. Absolutely. It takes two (or more) to tangle and given the complexities of international policy, unilateralism only worsens conflicts. Absolutely. George H.W. Bush was a realist, pragmatist who, whilst on certain occasions let his goals get in the way of his morals, was more of a thinker who sought both sides of the issues before jumping to action. I cannot say the same for his eldest offspring. Indeed i am. I believe in the original definition of affirmative action, but it seems it has evolved into the development of quotas. I am slightly against rigid quotas, but believe that there is still a dearth of opportunities for black Americans than whites, and more can be done. Without any doubt. Colin Powell has served his country dutifully for more than 35 years with distinction. Uncle Tom Justice, however, has not. He has slavishly done the bidding of the most restrictive forces of evil in America and is the biggest opportunist on the face of the earth. I don't support any parties. I used to be a Democrat, then a Republican and now am a registered independent. I find that the more Americans exercise political and electoral independence, the more accountable our politicians and government officials will be. A welfare state is necessary for the truly vulnerable of us as Obama has stated, but there is no denying that the increase of it is destructive for our society. I'm not sure what "victimology" rhetoric is because what that is supposed to mean is that any criticism of the status quo is being a victim which is nonsense. Whilst i do believe that things have improved for African Americans, America is not yet perfect and we still have work to do. There is no question. Example: Jewish Americans. Case closed.
____ Are black (duh!) Yes, beautiful dark chocolate ____ Support school vouchers No, unless there are imcome restrictions and they are available to children in low income families and at "D/F" schools first. ____ Support/oppose abortion, with exceptions Support with restrictions ____ Support some gay rights, but not marriage Support gay rights and marriage. Federal government needs to step in and give gays equal protection and rights. ____ Support lower taxes for all but rich folks Loaded question the way its asked. I support progressive taxes and the clinton tax structure. Everyone prospered under clinton. If republicans had their way, there would be no taxes. Have they ever considered that there is such a thing as taxes being "too low?" ____ Favor integration over assimilation Honestly dont care as long as separation of church and state isnt futher eroded. Im more spiritual than religious. ____ Support gun ownership, with restrictions Yes, with severe restrictions and severe punishment for gun offenders. ____ Favor an internationalist foreign policy Question is too vague. Should we participate in global harmony and international standards of national conduct...yes. Should we continue our behavior of being international bullies...no. ____ Like President Bush I more than President Bush II Another loaded question. Both stink to hell...one just less than the other. ____ Are "squishy middle" on affirmative action No. It has its place, but it isnt the solution. If discrimination didnt exist there would be no need for it. ____ Like Colin Powell more than Clarence Thomas I respect powell. I loathe thomas. So I guess thats a yes. ____ Mainly support one political party, but do swing vote Im a democrat. You show me a republican who's concerned with the well-being of minorities as much as he is the interest of the wealthy, and I will show you a wolf in sheep's clothing. ____ Favor a welfare state, but believe it is currently too high (Stop phrasing questions with conservative buzz-words.) I believe the government's roll is to serve its people, in whatever way its capable of and needs to. ____ Believe racism poses an obstacle, but so does victimology rhetoric (Another loaded question with conservative buzz-words.) I believe the reason we havent made any real progress in regards to racism and discrimination is because we are attacking it from the wrong end. Again, if all wings of american society were above board with their treatment of minorities, and hiring and promoting practices, there wouldnt be racism to speak of. ____ Believe black Americans should have some ties to Africa, but focus on USA (...another loaded question.) If they wish to on a personal level. I dont care in what direction people choose to focus their personal life. If at least 9 of the 15 points (60%) apply to you and you answered yes to the first question, then you're a black moderate. Notables: Colin Powell, Rep. Harold Ford Jr. (D-TN), Debra Dickerson FYI, Booker Rising scored 9 out of 15 (60%) on this quiz. Now if we could give this quiz to every black person... What the hell does "apply to me" mean? Does that mean "support" or oppose?"
Yes. I think school vouchers can be dangerous if left to the people. I'd like to see the government aiding people that can't afford vouchers. I think abortion needs to be legal. Condoms haven't been around forever; how do you suppose women/men got rid of babies they didn't want/couldn't afford to keep? I support more sex education. It doesn't make any sense to teach abstinence knowing perfectly well most people aren't practicing it. I fully oppose any legislation that prohibits one person from marrying another solely because of sexual orientation, race, religion, ethnic group, handicaps, or any other crass reason. I think taxes should not be overwhelmingly higher for anyone just because of that person's income. With that said, I am all for smarter government spending. It's not fair to tax the top 2% forty percent of their income if the government isn't spending it efficiently. On one hand, people should not be forced to leave their own cultures at the borders because they have to assimilate with American culture. At the same time, one needs certain things to get by in this country (like knowing how to speak English). Leaning more towards integration, but with limits. I don't want to remove guns from people, but I don't think they should be easy to get. I think backgrounds checks should be thoroughly performed and I think follow ups should be administered. I'm not sure what is meant by this one. Should we "police" the world? No. Should we "spread" democracy? No. Should we intervene where there is a clear violation of human rights? Take it up with the UN (that IS what it's there for). Should we recognize threats to our nation and act on them? Depends on the situation (Iraq was not one of them). Didn't care for either one. Affirmative action, whether people want to admit it or not, is in place because of a couple hundred years of discrimination. I don't think it should ever be used as the sole tool to pick two equally qualified candidates, but I'm sure the instances where someone was picked b/c of it are far fewer than those where a potential employee is ignored b/c of the ethnicity/sex of said person. Hell yeah. Clarence Thomas is a sad case. With that said, Colin Powell, despite that bullshit with the WMD and the UN, is still on good standing with me. I actually hate the notion of political parties polarizing the elections as they have done in past decades. So no, I don't mainly support one political party- whichever candidate has the best ideas is the one that gets my vote. The fact that Americans are losing homes at record numbers shows the government hasn't really done enough to strengthen the safety net in this country. Racism poses a far greater obstacle than "victimology rhetoric". Racism is what has led to the greatest atrocities in American history, not "victomology rhetoric". I believe to each his own. If that's what my neighbor wanted to do, who am I to tell him yes or no? It's his money/time/resources, not mine. As for me, I'm an American that might visit as a tourist, but never as a permanent resident of any of the countries there. I definitely think that certain European countries/the US owe Africa as a WHOLE a debt in the form of plundered resources that could probably never be fully repaid. For the record, I'd like to think labels like "conservative" and "liberal" are for those incapable of seeing things in shades of gray.
____ Are black (duh!)--- No I'm brown from the Boogie down, Productions of course our music be thumpin' others say their bad, but they're buggin. ____ Support school vouchers --- If vouchers mean some ghetto child has the option to travel to a better performing school, where that childs will be able to reach his or her full academic potential- YES! ____ Support/oppose abortion, with exceptions --- ____ Support some gay rights, but not marriage --- People should be able to do as they choose, as long as their freedoms do not infringe on others freedom, they pay taxes like everyone else. ____ Support lower taxes for all but rich folks --- Where much is given, much more is required !!!, they didn't get rich through rich folks. ____ Favor integration over assimilation --- I think we can integrate with out having to assimilate, I for one don't want a BW trapped in a WW's Body. When I travel, I travel to enjoy culture diversity. ____ Support gun ownership, with restrictions --- isn't that in the Constitution! ____ Favor an internationalist foreign policy --- We get most of our natural resources from abroad, so if you take you have to give, without neglecting yourself which is key. ____ Like President Bush I more than President Bush II --- These guys where actually Presidents, shit where have I Been for the last 20 years. ____ Are "squishy middle" on affirmative action --- If you have 2 applicants the most qualified should get the gig. ____ Like Colin Powell more than Clarence Thomas --- Clarence seems suspect to me. ____ Mainly support one political party, but do swing vote --- I support who supports my ideology, which is none!!! ____ Favor a welfare state, but believe it is currently too high --- If your handicap, cripple, etc, but if your an able body get your MF lazy arse out the house, the Government needs to implement labor for pay... I see a lot of dirty streets. ____ Believe racism poses an obstacle, but so does victimology rhetoric --- All ism's poses a threat to the growth of humanity, playing the victim surrenders to much power to the victimizer. ____ Believe black Americans should have some ties to Africa, but focus on USA --- Why not, everyone else have ties with their mother nation. and I stayed at a holiday Inn express last night.
___ Are black (duh!) African-American. Bigots always try to make pointless arguments related to skin color. They always ask: "What if we had white-entertainment television?" What if we had the "Congressional White Caucus?" There are a lot of white people that want to move past calling themselves "white." Those that do would be ok with French, Scottish, English, German; combinations thereof, etc. We may need to help them move in that direction. Now that they are used to the term African-American, it may help this country if we used it ourselves (but that is just my opinion). We are not a race (there is only one). We are an ethnic group. And I would not have any trouble with "Irish-entertainment television" or the "Congressional German Caucus." ____ Support school vouchers This is bigger than a voucher solution. We are not funding our schools. Because of this, the entire country is losing to China and India and Britain and Germany in the global marketplace. German immigrants know that even our best schools do not match some their worst (even had one friend that was afraid her child would not succeed in the world with just an American education). If we fail to fund even our public schools, we (or our kids) will be forced to find jobs overseas. The current economic disaster is just the beginning if we don't view education as part of the global competition. ____ Support/oppose abortion, with exceptions Yes. ____ Support some gay rights, but not marriage How does gay marriage effect my marriage in any way? Does it debase marriage??? I don't think so. The opponents of it do so for one of two reasons (in my opinion): 1. Religious beliefs. 2. Homophobia (maybe even fears about their own sexuality. The biggest opponent of gay rights is Mr. Denial or Mr. "Wide Stance" himself: Larry Craig). I'm very secure in my sexuality. I'm not dogmatic. It's tough for me to see how gay marriage is going to destroy America. ____ Support lower taxes for all but rich folks Yes. And the wealthy did not get there on their own. This country (and the economic opportunities it provided in the past) helped to get them there. If we can send the poor off to die (sacrifice their lives for this country), we can ask the rich to make an economic sacrifice as well...particularly now, with the country in enormous trouble. ____ Favor integration over assimilation Yes. This, too, is tied to our economic strength as a country. If we fail to work together during the next four years, there is no way we are going to compete with a socially integrated London (as one example). We'll be fighting over scraps while they get input from everyone. ____ Support gun ownership, with restrictions Yes. ____ Favor an internationalist foreign policy If you mean better cooperation with other nations and talking with enemy nations...Absolutely. ____ Like President Bush I more than President Bush II Yes. ____ Are "squishy middle" on affirmative action We could have lost World War II had we not enlisted the Tuskegee Airmen (they were that good and that pivotal...they shot down the first jet planes in the history of warfare). The war was a lot closer than it seemed. One could make the case that their inclusion in 1943 was a form of affirmative action. We need it cause the nation is still a little stupid (which is why we are in this financial mess...we ignored many bright minds that would have had a different take on things). We need the best people just to maintain our economic standing over the next few years. It's too bad (and a giant waste of time) that the best people are not always selected. ____ Like Colin Powell more than Clarence Thomas Powell made our military the most effective in the history of the world. And he did so after Vietnam, when the Armed Forces was at it's lowest point in terms of morale. He is a hero. Clarence Thomas is the biggest "uncle Tom" America has ever produced. ____ Mainly support one political party, but do swing vote Yes. ____ Favor a welfare state, but believe it is currently too high I can't tell if it's too high because our nation is in the second biggest economic crisis of it's life (thanks to a fraudulent banking system). Michigan is starting to look like parts of Mexico. ____ Believe racism poses an obstacle, but so does victimology rhetoric Yes. ____ Believe black Americans should have some ties to Africa, but focus on USA Yes.
I use to be center, then I got knocked to left of center. Became a centrist. Now I'm slightly right to center. Next I will be right of center. Then I will swing back from right to left until I end up at center again. Such is life, it's like a pendulum.
