Whatever he says, the right wingers will continue to "swift-boat" him.

I agree-- unfortunately, swiftboating tends to still be very believable, especially against a candidate of color..

That reverend really caused a lot of damage to Barack's campaign.

I wonder if it is going to affect his campaign and votes in a major way.

People were waiting for something to go wrong in his campaign. I'm sure
Hillary and the Republicans are going to be all over it.

It will. He has essentially lost the nomination.

I have this gut feeling that all hope is lost for his campaign now.

I mean, he's come a long way and done wonderful things but I know A LOT of whites were offended by the reverend's comments.

And although Barack couldn't control the reverend's mouth, he is guilty by association(political offiliation, rather).

Ah well, if he loses, it was good while it lasted. Almost seemed too good to be true.

Yeah man. He's gonna lose real big in the remainder of the primaries, and even if he manages to drag this shit into Denver, the superdelegates will go with Hillary because of this shit. And man, there'll be some commotion a la 1968 in the Democratic Party.

If i were John McCain, i'd call up John Roberts and practise my oath of office because it's inevitable. Hillary will get nominated and McCain will win because blacks will have lost all enthusiasm by June and Hillary knows she's toast without the black vote.

Well, as you said SoCal, it was fun while it lasted.

We can't give up now. Obama needs his supporters now more than ever. We have to stand up and show everyone that we stand behind him. I refuse to give up on him. Until I read that Hillary won the Democratic nomination, I won't give up on Obama.

And for the record, if Hillary wins, I'm voting for McCain. I won't like it, because I think he's too old, but I will never give my vote to a Clinton.

Don't give up hope!! Go OBAMA!!

Honestly, i haven't met a much more thought-provoking, unapologetically honest and undeniably accurate writer on race than Tim Wise.

I've never heard of this guy, but I read this article and it was mind-blowing. I will definitely seek out more of this guy's material. Thanks!

This will not hurt Obama's campaign, I believe you are looking for excuses to LOOSE.

The speech he made was the one he needed to make and frankly when is "white" America going to finally wake up and see that the REST of us, are tried of them trying to sweep race under the rug like it doesn't happen.

Nothing Wright said was WRONG, he was SPOT ON and its the TRUTH.

The Truth is White Americans uncomfortable with hearing the truth on racial relationships can't handle the truth!

Honestly be positive, this will strengthen resolve in his camp, trust me.

What is McCain doing to say?

    Iraq is going great?

He has already admitted to knowing NOTHING about the economy, how's he going to fix all the banking problems and stop a recession from happening?

    No plan for that either.

Americans that want to separate themselves from the war and the economyd will vote for Obama.

Remember Bush's approval rating is 30% and it really should be lower and there rumblings he could still get impeached.

The DNC knows what's up and don't want to alienate anybody, so it will be Obama and if a few confused black folk and uncomfortable white folk don't like Obama because of Rev Wright, they are a very small number of people.

Whoa whoa buddy, slow your roll. I haven't said anything about not liking Wright or looking for an excuse for Barack to lose. In fact, i happen to agree withe everything he said 100% and the fact that he was right is what white Americans don't like.

The simple fact that is that white America will not cozy up to a man who reminds them of racial grievances in America. And while Obama has done all but talk blatantly about race, many whites believe he shares the same views as his pastor and thus they will be less inclined to support him. Whats more, many people who may have had doubts about supporting him may now seize this opportunity not to vote for him without seeming bigoted and racist.

The DNC may not want to "alienate anybody", but you know damn well that the Republikkkans are already planning their attack ads against either of the Democratic candidates and should Obama become the nominee, this will be the first thing they would mention, alongside the "proud of America" gaffe that his wife uttered and many more.

It really seems you don't understand the term "swiftboating".
