Obama had control of the House and Senate his first two years. I don't believe he will change his stance on issues in his second term. I think he's going to do more of the same.

Republicans are gushing all over themselves because Romney....looked strong? No, not really. Because he really nailed Obama on key issues? No, didn't do that either. Because he laid out a clear vision for our country under his leadership? No, he didn't.

You know why they're gushing? Because he managed to go 90 minutes on live television without looking like a complete moron. Nothing he did was special. The only thing he did was not look like a bumbling idiot for the first time in weeks.

But let's prove this. Right-wingers if he did such a great job can you tell us:

What tax deductions he plans to close?

What he plans to replace the Affordable Care Act with?

How he can maintain tax revenue through closing deductions...when even if you closed every deduction we have for the wealthy it wouldn't equal the amount of revenue we'd lose by his continuation of Trickle Down Economics with more tax cuts for the wealthy.

What government subsides, besides that deficit killer PBS subsidy, will he get rid of?

How does he plan to make America more energy independent when simply drilling more won't do anything to lower the price of oil because the companies drilling would simply sell it on the global market at the highest bidder...just as they do now.

He says he likes regulation (except all he's talked about is how regulation kills job growth) and would repeal Dodd-Frank...so can you tell us which regulations he likes and would keep?

Can you, the G-O-P voters, answer any of these? No? Oh that's right...

Because he's yet to answer a single one of them during his campaign and he sure as hell didn't answer these questions last night.

 

Many, if not most of the answers to those questions can be found on Mitts official website. I just found the energy policy in two seconds.

One of the biggest disputes was over tax cuts. Obama argued that Romney's plan to stimulate the economy includes a tax cut totaling $5 trillion that, Obama said, isn't possible because the Republican nominee is also promising to spend money in other places.

Romney flatly disputed that number. "First of all, I don't have a $5 trillion tax cut," he said.

Who's right? The Washington Post's Fact Checker says the facts on this one are on Obama's side. The New York Times notes that Romney "has proposed cutting all marginal tax rates by 20 percent — which would in and of itself cut tax revenue by $5 trillion."

FactCheck.org has weighed in too, tweeting during the debate that "Romney says he will pay for $5T tax cut without raising deficit or raising taxes on middle class. Experts say that's not possible."

PolitiFact has given a "mostly true" rating to the charge that "Romney is proposing a tax plan "that would give millionaires another tax break and raise taxes on middle class families by up to $2,000 a year."

What is his real plan here? I watched last night and was still left wonder WTF.

His plan is to be a tool of the corporate elite and their interests, no matter what numbers he throws out. Romney will say anything to get elected.

 

Yes his record certainly proves that.

 

The idea behind Romney lowering marginal tax rates by 20% is to encourage spending. In the current environment, the main thing needed to achieve faster growth is to get more spending. If you give consumers more disposable income, it will have a tremendous short-run effect.

Here is the supply-side equation: Lower marginal tax rates = higher economic growth = higher GDP = bigger tax base = higher tax revenues at the lower tax rates.

Obama's plan is to just "tax the rich". Taxing the rich does not benefit the middle class. By definition, the American middle class has to pay its own way.
Anything that the government gives the middle class, it must first tax away from them. Taxes on “the one percent” cannot even pay for interest on the debt, much less benefits for the “the 99 percent”.

The only thing that can truly benefit the middle class is more private sector jobs at higher wages. The only thing that can produce this is a much higher rate of economic growth. Romney’s supply-side tax plan would produce a higher rate of economic growth, so it would benefit the middle class, as well as everyone else.

They are making RECORD BREAKING PROFITS and they are shipping more jobs to China and India than ever before.
I personally liked a lot of what Romney had to say for an academic economist point of view but the reality is that people are still spending like its 2007 and even though they are most of the jobs lost in 2008/early 2009 aren't coming back. I've yet to hear his plan on training the work force of tomorrow who can't count on low skill manufacturing anymore.

No matter who you are for people need to realize talking politics is nothing if you don't vote.

 

Bush has already proved trickle down don't work at all. Our country is in a deficit. Somebody's gotta pay more. The poor are already on welfare barely or not even surviving and the middle is hanging by threads. That leaves who else the rich. Obama is getting rid of SOME of the tax cuts. There is no sense in people like Romney paying 14% while middle class folks are paying 25%. Bush tax cuts ARE BAD for America.
