His far left views will lose him his second term. 1 The closing of Gitmo. (Lets put them in your backyard) 2 More regulations on the already struggling auto industry. 3 Wasteful spending in the stimulus bill 4 No waterboarding or harsh tactics against terrorists. (setting the stage for another terror attack) The passive stance of Bill Clinton set the stage for 9-11 Bin Laden should be dead for the attacks of the USS Cole and the US embassy.
FAIL. We're honoring the due process clause in our Constitution and lifting the suspension of habeas corpus. . . . nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law . . . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fifth_Amendment_to_the_U.S._Constitution FAIL. How do you think they, in addition to the financial industry, got into this mess in the first place? A lack of regulatory pressure from the government. Even Alan Greenspan had to admit that his Ayn Rand wetdream of a lassiez-faire freemarket economic philosophy has proven to be faulty at its very core. FAIL. Our GDP primarily depends on three variables: consumption, investment and government spending. In light of two of three being unable to mount economic growth at this juncture, we must look in the same direction as we did during The Great Depression--the state. Without the state, our economy will continue to tank and take much longer to recover. FAIL. Do you ever get tired of being a dumbass? Our Constitution is the only thing that makes this country worth living in, I suggest that you read it.
my friend there is not FAIL with what I posted. Those Auto regulations are for global warming and will kill the industry. Stop drinking the koolaid my friend. Im a dumbass for thinking that we should not treat these murdering terrorist like US residents. Everyday Obama followers prove themselves to be cult members.
I would like to see Obama do well, but if one of those Gitmo releasees turns out to cause major trouble over the next few years he will be accountable during the next election. European countries have been screaming and complaining about Gitmo but few are lining up to accept the releasees now.
Sorry, but our Constitution was written to protect OUR CITIZENS!! Not those who attack us! I hope he succeeds too, but he better have a good plan on this one or he won't!
If they did they wouldn't be conservatives. Dick Cheney once said all it was was a "goddamn piece of paper."
Fortunately our new president does not appear to be as driven by knee jerk Bush-Cheney-resentment as some of our resident liberals: "... Mr. Obama would do well to consider the vice president's (Cheney's) suggestion that he take the time to "find out exactly what it is we're doing, and why we're doing it, whether or not it's worked, before they start making decisions based on campaign rhetoric to scrap certain things or drop certain approaches, or to agree to limitations on their authority." Some on the Obama team may see the vice president's remark as a warning shot from a political opponent. Mr. Obama, by contrast, was wise enough to recognize it as "pretty good advice." If he's as smart as we're told he is, he will take it. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123180589890275475.html
All of this and you still refuse to mention what "Country First" meant during John McCain's campaign.:smt009
Obama doesn't want his first 100 days bogged down with unnecessary politics, like Clinton's was with the gays in the military issue. Smart man.
Just let one more 911 hit us because the terrorists (we are not suppose to call them that now) on President Obama's watch then it will be the end of his presidency. If President Obama gives the world's terrorist the belief that he is weak they will take advantage of him. What this country needs now is strong leadership, not a weak leadership.
Thank you Sir for the great post once again. Please Tony, if you ask a question you should at least let it rest after the 3rd or 4th time you asked, either we don't know, we don't want to tell you, or you're not listening!! You're pick, so make up your mind then let it go....:smt056Then send us all a hug and we'll be friends for ever....
Actually, if one of those guys returns to attack the country, you should thank bush. He's the one that approved torturing those guys, thus making all, if any, evidence gathered against them inadmissable and useless. Tell me something, if these guys were criminals who have commited such dangerous acts, why did bush lock them up (some for as many as 6 years) without charging them with a crime or trying them in a court of law?
That is the craziest logic I have heard you state yet. So if were safe, no thanks to Bush, if we get attacked after he's out it is his fault!! OK, when we get attacked, I'll expect to see you blaming him.
Despite your draconian wishes, we cant lock these guys up forever and throw away the key without charging them with a crime, trying them in a court of law, and convicting them. But if evidence to convict these guys existed, bush would have tried and convicted them by now. And you dont really think they can be convicted based on any info received by toturing them? So even if these guys are dangerous, they have to be set free...thanks to bush locking them up without gathering hard evidence against them that can be used in a court of law to convict them.
Well, that may go if they were US citizens, but they aren't and our laws don't apply to them. If we do let them go, I hope they are carefully watched, which will be Obama's responsibility, to make sure it happens.
Wrong, again. Our laws do apply to them, which is why bush locked to up at gitmo...to get around u.s. laws that do protect them. (Its no different than illegal aliens in this country. U.S. laws apply to them and thats the standard we hold them to.)
It's funny how we didn't have any major (non-domestic) terrorist attacks on US soil before 9/11, yet Bush has managed to keep us safe, even though 9/11 happened on his watch. Apparently if we arrest people who we suspect of being terrorists or engaging in terrorism, all is fair game-no matter how faulty the intelligence- even if we torture them (which won't necessarily lead to them telling us the truth) or deny the rights even illegal immigrants are entitled to in our country. That's some interesting logic.
