I love bento boxes for lunches. It gives you several areas for diversity and helps with portion control. Flickr has a bunch of bento pics, some cute, some delicious looking and some very artistic. Keeping in the boards theme, here is a bento we can all enjoy...
I do those for the boys from time to time. I'll have to look through my pictures and see if I have any of the lunches I've done for them.
You can buy bento lunches at most Japanese restraunts, but making them is so much fun. Allilyn, I would really love to see some of your bento. I am waiting on my supplies so I can start doing them for mine and hubbies lunches.
these are adorable...supplies? do you have more information? i would love to do these for the girls that work for me
I ordered some boxes, cups, shape cutters, soy sauce dispensers, mini pans for mini meatloafs, flavored rices, etc. Heres one for you Lipstick.... http://www.flickr.com/photos/kitsa_sakurako/478605744/
I got most of my supplies at Hobby Lobby. I do have pictures of my supplies on my photobucket that I took for a friend who was interested in what I was using but no pictures of the actual lunches. I'll have to dig those up. I use wooden treasure chests or wooden trays to arrange the food on. It's mostly cookie cutter shapes of cheese, sandwiches, fruits and veggies and then small containers of food that I can't cut into cute shapes. I'm not as artistic as most bento folks but I do what I can. lol Here are some of my supplies:
You all are so fancy and playful with them! I get the basic bentos when I'm up with my gf from the Japanese market. Usually teriyaki chicken.
