Bill Clinton Plotting Assault on Tea Party Movement?

Big Government is reporting that Bill Clinton is putting together a coordinated assault on the Tea Party movement. If the report is true, then it suggests that the Left considers the Tea Partiers and what they represent an existential threat.

"Big Government has learned that Clintonistas are plotting a 'push/pull' strategy. They plan to identify 7-8 national figures active in the tea party movement and engage in deep opposition research on them. If possible, they will identify one or two they can perhaps 'turn', either with money or threats, to create a mole in the movement. The others will be subjected to a full-on smear campaign. (Has MSNBC already been notified?)

"Big Government has also learned that James Carville will head up the effort."

Big Government is also suggesting that the Clinton faction in the Democratic Party views the Tea Party movement as a threat, not just to President Obama, whom the Clintons loath, but to the entire progressive liberal agenda. The Tea Party movement has been ridiculed as a group of fringe activists by the Left. But the election of Scott Brown to the Senate, the collapse of health care reform, and the plunging of Democrat poll numbers seems to have caused second thoughts.

One wonders, though, how the renewal of what in effect are the politics of personal destruction will work. Hot Air points out that the Tea Party movement does not have a centralized leadership and though may not be susceptible to that kind of campaign.

As for national politicians who are aligned with the Tea Party movement, Sarah Palin comes to mind. But one wonders what more the Left can try to do to Gov. Palinthat it has not tried to do already? Claim that she's a space alien?

First of all, Palin is not a "national politician." She's a local politician who quit her job halfway through. What she is, however, is a TV personality.

Second, I wish that it was an armed assault against the teabaggers, I'd be down to shoot me some rednecks.

This particular sentiment is one I share today. I'm in one of those 'you lookin' at me' moods.

Do you really think I missed that LA, come on now  how slow do you think I am?

You know not all women are prone to bitchiness, I'm just pretty easy going all the time unless someone tries to f**k with me. Then I tend to want to return the favor.

I'm not offended in the least, I'm amused actually. Thank you for that!

I really am almost impossible to offend so say what you like. There's only one person on this forum that I have an issue with, and it's not you.

P.S. Glad to hear from you. You've been missed and IB was about to send out a search party.

Repubs say they're making a comeback in '10. But the opposite party of the president always wins in midterms, so is it just spin? Is the media making this fringe movement (basically white resistance lets face it) bigger than it is? Why do you think nothing really got done even when we had the super-majority? What's your opinion, Patterson?

I think for one, a lot of undeserving dems in congress road Obama's back all the way to the washington during the 08 elections. The moderate and so called blue dog dems might as well be republicans, given the way they vote on certain legislation. We need more progressives in congress to get some of Obama's agenda pushed through. There are too many dems worried about just having a seat in congress than looking out for the American people. The rethugs march in lock step, thats why they are able to push their agendas through, more so than democrats. I almost want to see a good number of dems unseated in the Nov mid-term elections, it would be good to see some seats go to progressives.

I doubt that will happen though, given the historical aspect of how mid-term elections turn out, with the incubent party loosing seats. Some times I wonder if there is a strategy when it comes to seats the dems will lose in Nov. Perhaps, they want to blame everything on a republican controlled congress in 2012 when Obama is up for re-election. Who knows at this point, but it will be interesting to see just how many seats we loose in Nov, I wonder if it will be a repeat of Clinton in '94.
