Dumb-ass got what he deserved. He should get a beat down just for comparing himself to Rosa Parks.

Yeah, I think the comedian screwed up.

It was only a computer laptop and a hat in the overhead compartment.

    You miss the point.

You have absolutely no idea HOW the OP saw the incident, unless he told you already.

How is it a fair question to ask someone if they were at the scene of the incident when they never made any claim to being there, let alone indicated what they feel actually took place?

    You're not making any sense.

I'm being objective, and avoiding presumption in a forum I thought was about open discussion.

The OP only made two posts in this thread, none of which stated what he personally felt about the issue.

Did I miss the post where the OP calls it a racist move?
If so, I apologize for the error, and please direct me to it.

P.S. I've been lurking for over a year. It's not even like it's a really complicated place for a newcomer to figure out.

But that doesn't mean he should have gotten kicked off the plane.

If you've been lurking for that long, then you'd be familiar with the agenda of the OP.

And by choosing the title of the thread, his opinion on the subject was already known....broadcast across the forum, if you will. He's famous for these kinds of threads, and for posting shit he thinks is constantly racist.

    You're right.

IMO, there was poor handling of the situation from both parties of people.

Question is, what did he do to get to that point. I think there is more to this story than the comedian is telling us. You don't get ejected from a plane with no reason and if he did - he has room to file a case. Simple.

But since he compared himself to Rosa Parks, I suspect he is prone to hyperbole and thus, he might have taken this too far in the plane and thus gotten himself ejected. No confrontation is tolerated on planes anymore and he knows that damn well.

It would have been much smarter to file a complaint after the flight.

The link came from hater site (a BW-ran site) so I didn't bother to click the link.

FG, do you know if the flight was Domestic or International? If it was International, it would be harder for them to file a complaint and get together.

Exactly. And when it comes down to it, acting like a jackass is acting like a jackass no matter what color you are....and these days, if you act like a jackass on the plane, then you deserve to get thrown off.

You essentially told me I need to have been around these boards long enough to understand the situation and make relevant posts.

While you do have a point in that newcomers may not get the feel of a site before engaging, if the issue is about seniority when it comes to discussing certain posts from veterans, the OP has been here for just about 8 years.

You've been here a little over 1 year.

Can you really give me such advice?

    Not necessarily.

    The original title:

Black Comedian Compares Himself To Rosa Parks After United Airlines Kicks Him Off Flight Over Not Making Room For White Lady

    The OP's:

Black Comedian Kicked Off Flight Over Not Making Room For White Lady

So he paraphrased it a bit to not include the "wordy" title of the article, but it is still the same thing. It's essentially the title of the article.

    I'm familiar with his threads.

He mostly just posts a link to a controversial topic and lets the discussion take place. Plucked from the headlines.

If however you two have some sort of beef, I guess that's another matter and I won't get involved.

He and I don't have an issue with each other.

And yes, after over a year, I would say that I, and many others here, are more than qualified. You don't know things until you engage...I've been engaging. You're welcome to join in some other threads you know. Don't let this one be where you park yourself. :)

    Okay, thanks for the welcome.

I look forward to responding to you and your posts in a year from now, if again I find them to be a bit unfair.

Or do I wait until you've also been here 8 years to address you the way you have the OP?

Sounds unnecessarily complicated, and contrived since forums are pretty much the same all over, but whatever.

At least we aren't talking about the actual point of my post, right? ;)
