Open your eyes Sneakeedyck and do your own research, don't just parrot the beliefs of Fox news, I am not saying they are always wrong, but a sign of an intelligent, well informed individual is the ability to "peel the onion" no matter which side they are on.

 

Loki,you belong to a party whose pols are against Blacks like the late governor who disapproves the Martin Luther King Holiday,and the late senator who voted against the Civil Rights Act. It is going to be a long time before a Black Republican wins a high office.

Their claim on the link you provided is that he is no longer a communist.
Which to me is really nitpicking. We can go back and forth all day but the fact is he had to be fired because he was exposed.

And as far as Blindly following Fox. I call a spade a spade. Truthfully I am about to be a non voter as opposed to Republican or Democrat.

 

Sneeky, you don't win a Pulitzer Prize the way Politifact has being full of "S". They can back up their claims with documentation and facts. Lastly, Jones was NOT fired, Obama never even asked him to step down, he did so voluntarily to avoid any controversy over his PAST comments that he always admitted making. I posted those links to show how talking heads like Beck can twist words to suit their cause whenever it suits them, our job as thinking, concerned citizens is to dig deeper for the truth.

 

ST, it is certainly true that both parties have jaded pasts when it comes to minority issues, republicans especially so in fairly recent times. Even with his foibles, seeing Steele selected Chairman is indeed progress, and those of us working from within the party are seeing signs of progress. For example we sponsored a fund raiser here in Arizona for Herman Cain from Mississippi running for the Senate a few years back. Even though Herman did not win, it was a very close race and refreshing to see a Black republican candidate from the deep south. We will get there, and when we do, it will be a good thing for all minorities.

 

Herman Cain lives in Georgia and a businessman with a screw loosened. Both my have jaded pasts but the Republicans are not doing a very good job in getting Blacks to join. No White male has the testicular fortitude of the Rockefellers of New York and Arkansas,Weiker of Connecticut and many others. Only the racist branch rules this party now and Steele would never have that positition if it were not for a Black Democratic President of the United States.

 

Once the republican base get over their "penis-envy", we will probably start to see more blacks play bigger roles in GOP.

While there certainly are racists still within the party (democratic party as well) we disagree that they are the ones ruling the GOP. There has been change and will continue to be change. To your last point, of course political one-up-manship was part of Steele getting elected chairman, that is part of the game of politics, it still is a noteworthy step forward for minorities and the GOP, anything to upset the racists and old party liners within the part is a VERY good thing. Do understand, no minority in the GOP that I know of is blind to the problems, past or present, or the challenges ahead, just determined to make a difference for the betterment of all.

To the black Republicans here, why not split off from the Republicans (who are like the Democrats anyway) and move toward the nascent third party movement for a true "Conservative Party"?

 

Interesting idea, however from a historical perspective third parties have have a very difficult time establishing credibility. Back in the 90's Ross Perot made a decent run at it, but even with his billions, he could not make it work.
