Blimey...each of my family members saying having Republicans...(See more)

They told me that having Republicans take back control in the house is very, very, very, very good thing. :smt108

They said that if they did, they would have to help President Obama with jobs. I just don't see how it is. Republicans are just trying to get President Obama to serve only one-term.

Well I guess one way of looking at it is that as Americans. And by Americans I mean in general, black, white, hispanic, asian, democrat, republican, etc are and should come together at a time like this. I think that is a way to take a big step forward in getting over this recession and see more progress; not just in actual jobs, hopefully, but in the overall American attitude and American spirit that is currently trapped somewhere in the Ghostbuster's basement.

 

Same thing happen with clinton and he went on for two terms. They are right. The republicans won't make the comment that the dems have a majority and can do whatever they want. The republicans get to share in the blame. Problem is Obama concentrated on the wrong things. it is the economy stupid and that may be what makes him a one term president.


He has two years to turn it around. This time last year he was beloved. Now, he is disliked. my my what two years does to a person. He has two years to fix things. Get to WORK!

 

even if they haste Obama they arent going to try to end his term early or impeach him they will just try to work with him and influence him. Dems still have the senate, all the congressmen who won their house seats yesterday will be up for election in 2012 with obama so they cant afford to pull a stunt because their term intervals run with obama's.

What I posted was directed towards NC. Yesterday in Tony Soprano's thread, now you want to be mad or something like that, he said he didn't vote.

well they are looking at the historical implications of it. the last 70 years this happened 3 times. truman, reagan and clinton.....the common thread all three got re-elected. they are hoping for that trend to happen

 

Truman did not run for re election in 1952 because of the Korean War.

You know what though I think he should have tried. I think a lot of people who begin to hate bush in 2003 and '04 still voted for hm not because they believed in the war but because they thought he should work to finish what he started. If they had not fired MacArthur, maybe he could had argued with him the way Powell talking about uranium from Niger to the UN to bolster Bush's claims.
