^^ LMFAO! Exactly. California will continue to have problems as long as we don't have ways to make money. Taxing the hell out of us should not be an option. Natural resources would be a good way to go.
So tax the hell out of the earth's already overtaxed property....?? Bandaid Solution. --------------- Everybody is to blame. You vote, they represent, decisions are made... It's all swings and roundabouts, IMO.
You do know I was talking about the depletion of natural resources? In that I believe that raping the earth is never ok, regardless of what sh*t humans have got themselves into?? EDIT: You Americans - you're obsessed with taxes. haha...
http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-analysis20-2009may20,0,5578614.story It's a column...so, opinionated, but still..... "By rejecting five budget measures, Californians also brought into stark relief the fact that they, too, share blame for the political dysfunction that has brought California to the brink of insolvency.".......... ......"Nearly a century after the Progressive-era birth of the state's ballot-measure system, it is clear that voters' fickle commands, one proposition at a time, are a top contributor to paralysis in Sacramento. And that, in turn, has helped cripple the capacity of the governor and Legislature to provide effective leadership to a state of more than 38 million people."
It's simple: Their costs (healthcare, education etc.) are outpacing the revenue they collect. California has plenty to offer but it is not an accident that many big businesses are moving to places like North Carolina and Texas...where is the job creation in Cali???? In a sense you might say that Cali's fortunes are linked with the rest of the U.S...however each state is quite different in it's strengths and natural resources so it isn't always easy to make such direct comparisons.
