If anyone is feeling generous and/or wants to clean up their Karma, you can visit this site www.chernobyl-international.org and possibly make a donation. I just did, and plan on continuing.

Last year I watched their movie "Chernobyl Heart" and felt all that I was supposed to feel. I remember Chernobyl, I was still in Russia back then. The lowliness of Communist leaders of the time knew no limits. The tragedy occurred just a few days before May 1, and all the big holiday demonstrations in Kiev and other big cities of the Ukraine and Belarus, and probably some other countries too, should have been immediately cancelled and people should have been alarmed about the danger to their health. Was anything of that nature done? Ha. Today I picked up a Ukrainian paper and read an article about how the day was commemorated in Kiev. There was a moment of silence at the hour when the first reactor blew up. The bell tolled 20 times to commemorate the 20 years, and people lit candles while praying for those who lost their lives.

the recognition of the tragedy is good. I hope that someone is taking heed with the Russian nuclear plan and trying to exercise wisdom dealing with the holes in the system.
i also hope that the land and its people continue to recover from the event.
