LA, BOSTON, MIAMI and everybody else word to everything we love we coming to see you. I so can't wait for this season to start. Hoping I get some season home tickets.
**yawn** Is this the same Knicks that got swept out of the playoffs last season? You still have a coach who only knows one side of the floor, no bench, and an overrated All-Star in Carmelo who is worthless without the ball. Let the trade happen, NY ain't going nowhere.
Oh word? CP3 is the best point guard in the league. Mello is in the top 3 of all small forwards and Amare is the best power forward on the east coast. We'll see what happens come playoff time.
MVP Derrick Rose and Deron Williams beg to differ. Lebron, Durant.... Ok, I'll give you Melo as 3rd best. LOVE his defense as well. Kevin Love is better. The ONLY thing Stoudemire does better than Love is score. Neither is great on defense, but Love can spread the floor and is a rebound maniac. Stoudemire, like Melo play only on one side of the court..... which is great given their coach. If you look at the teams who have been winning championships for the past 10 years... San Antonio, Lakers and Boston... especially the 06-07 Spurs and 07-08 Boston teams, defense has been a key component. That 05-06 Heat team and last years Mavs teams were at least average. D'Antoni never has and never will give a shit about defense. I will say that this Knicks team will be fun to watch. I don't expect much out of them, though. Can't believe you put Paul over D-Rose though.... they must have some good ass weed in New York.
Love D. Rose but if I had to pick a one to run my offense it would be Deron Williams. He's a husky motherfucker that other point guards cannot defend. Rose will have a better career if he can carry that wicked athleticism into his thirties.
Both points are probably better scorers but they sure as hell don't steal better nor pass the rock better and that's what I need my point guard to do besides bring the ball up. At this point Lebron would be better at guard he's not a natural forward to me. Kind of like magic and jordan who both could play sf but were way better as guards but i'll give you Durant because that boy is a beast. The Knicks team is still really young give them a chance to get a rhythm going. Btw CP3 is the best so puff puff pass PD3000
Between the 3, Saty has a valid argument with Deron as the best all around player of the 3. I would give Paul the defensive edge over both, no doubt.... but Williams is just as good a passer. Personally, I'd still go with D.Rose... and you know damn well you'd take him over Paul. Rose is the rare player with that MJ like killer instinct. Rose is the kind of player that can take the team on his back night in and night out. Add to that the fact that Rose is going into just his 4th season! As far as the SF's go, because Lebron has PG like ball handling abilities, you can't take away the fact that it is his true position. He's not the first SF to push the ball up the court, Pippen did it throughout his Bulls career. If anything, it just speaks to his versatility as a player which is even more of an argument why he's the leagues top SF. I'm not a Lebron fan by any stretch of the imagination, but I definitely recognize his talent on both ends of the court. Year in and year out, Lebron will be mentioned among the leagues MVP candidates.... Melo will not. At one point, I'd have even said Melo is a better scorer than Lebron, but I've completely changed my position on that. At the end of the day, I don't care if you had God, Jah and Helios... no team coached by D'antoni is ever going anywhere. Trust me on that.... I'm a Spurs fan. We've been sticking our dicks in D'antoni coached teams for years. EDIT: For the record I'm pulling for the Lakers to win this season so their fans can finally shut the fuck up about that asterisk bullshit for the Spurs '98 - '99 championship.
http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/sto...w-york-knicks-sign-extension-according-report Not a big fan of players "demanding" trades. How about you play out your contract? It's not like the NFL where your contract is not guaranteed. They fought for this in the new CBA. If I'm not mistaken this was one of the concessions that the owners made. It's like a slap in the face to demand a trade, but hey Carmelo did it so I guess if the owners allow it...
haha Phil Jackson started that shit to get inside the Spurs' head in 2001; we're all familiar with his penchant for mind games. If nothing else, a shortened season means that players head into the postseason with stronger legs. I'll happily take a championship for a 66 game season.
