Now we all need is Howard, what a fucking team that would be. http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/7332598/talks-three-way-trade-sending-chris-paul-new-orleans-hornets-los-angeles-lakers-pau-gasol-houston-rockets
I am looking at the best backcourt in the league and think it'll pay off huge dividends if Howards climbs aboard. We can contend pretty damn good without him, but WOW if he came over.
Now I'm hearing that the deal is off because NBA owners are jealous of large market teams picking up topnotch talent. They filed a complaint with Stern. I've never heard of any shit like this in my life.
I hope so. I was upset that We lost Odom and Gasol at the same time. Those were the top two I would hate to lose, aside from Kobe. Now they are on some bullshit.
I would like to see the NBA do something to prevent the large market teams from stockpiling talent, but in this case I thought they'd given up a fair amount of talent in exchange. Actually, I think the Hornets did the best in this deal. Lakers lost Gasol, who many feel was just as important to the Lakers last championship as Kobe was. They also lost Odom. Hornets gained Kevin Martin, Louis Scola and Lamar Odom. Larger picture, though.... losing teams get high draft positions for a reason. They shouldn't serve as placeholders for talent for the larger teams.
Hmmm... I don't think this will make us "better" but it will be interesting to see how it all plays out. I sure am going to miss Odom.
Yep, did what we could to close the deal and David Stern stepped on every opportunity to make it happen. He needs to go right now. I'm not going to let this linger, but he's done more to ruin the perception of the game than any player or owner that I've seen in the NBA or any other sports league.
I hate all Florida sports, and I especially hated what the Heat did last summer. Soooooo, I'm still missing the point.
Much farther than I'm comfortable with. Few things annoy me more than seeing these bandwagon SoFla fans happy.
