This crossfit training is big with the military here. A military buddy of mine took me on Langley Air Force Base, Fort Eustice Army Base, and Norfork Naval Station just to see how the various branches of the military is using crossfit training and it blew my mind on how comprehensive these programs are in free weight, cardio, medicine ball, flexibility and calisthenics programs. I love how crossfit programs they have are tied into their hand to hand combat training.
I find it interesting too. I posted this video a while back of women doing crossfit. It was in the fitness thread.......
I love that video. What impresses the hell out of me are the number of military women in those classes and schools. I truly believe it's the women who are going to make these programs popular once they leave the military. They can do everything from pilates to yoga to weight training and martial arts. It's truly revolutionary.
looks pretty complicated.... even more-so than some wrestling conditioning routines I was looking at from Arizona State U. I may look into it more, but my space is limited maybe I can have jordan be my personal instructor
This one weird dude in PT would always ask if anyone was interested in doing EDIT: Crossfit. I declined because I wasn't trying to go with him.....he was weird.
BA, I undertstand you will be entering the military. Good luck to you. Get into all the fitness programs available to you and make it a part of your life. Boot camp will unleash the warrior within you. Be the "Warrior/Scholar". Get that top fitness rating in whatever you do and at the same time make the PH.d degree your other goal for life. Good luck
Thanks, Tiger. I'm trying to get into as much shit as possible while I'm in. meant to say Crossfit. I already do regular PT.
