Alright speaking to all the women on here I would like ya'll to set the record straight. The term Tall, DARK and handsome (specifically dark) are you talking about a black man or other ethnic guy or a tanned white guy. This has been confusing to me about white women for the longest. I already know what bw mean but alot of ww would say it and mean a white guy with a tan.
I do know that women use this expression to describe non-black men with dark hair. http://www.icubed.com/~rpoe/tdh.htm By the way ladies check out Paul Kariya on this page, the pic with a towel. Whoo!
Do not tell me you've ever thought they were referring to black men   And it'd be publicly accepted, even by white men
I've always assumed that they mean a white guy with a dark tan, dark hair, and dark eyes, who's supposedly attractive to them. It's crossed my mind before as to whether or not they maybe referring to a black guy, but most of the time, they either aren't, or will never admit it.
My friends use it to describe dark hair and eyes.....generally olive complexion so more along the lines of italianos, spanish, greek and portuguese men......I'd use it for black men though.
A white guy, with dark hair and eyes.... like orlando bloom. He is:  too **** beautiful for his own good[/img]
I totally depends on the one using the phrase.. it can even mean a white man who has brunette or black hair.. w/o with a tannish complexion.. for me.. it would definately be a blk man
Honestly, I don't think they really know. Its really think its something they read in novels and thereafter chant.
well, i think historically it meant someone white/ italian/ spanish looking but now use it all the time to describe my perfect man. so as with everything those lines of definition of meaning have blurred that little bit more.
Is that what you mean when you say you are attracted to dark men? To all the white women on here Is that what you all mean?
well i think of a black man, but I asked around and most of my friends believe that phrase to describe someone like Orlando Bloom.....One girl said Asian guy(?) :smt102
I think the description is in the eyes of who is saying it.. Growing up, I probably might have thought Caucasian but with a darker skin tone, definitely black or brunette hair.. But then I was around almost all Caucasians at the time. Now, I'd definitely be thinking a black man.. however if a white woman who I knew dated within her race only, I'd be back to assuming white but with dark hair was her meaning..
See this is why it is so confusing. Now people are going to be stuck when women say that phrase. I say that should only be used for bm because it is using dark in general and alot of bm are dark in general.
I'm pretty sure the original phrase was said by someone Caucasian and did not have a BM in mind when it was said.. Kind of like the white prince in the castle story book Cinderella type stories.. that kind of thing.. the phrase has just evolved..
