Oh hell no now I am not dissing the big gurls, but I doubt that a big time nba baller is going to mess with these chicks.

You got that right. I believe they would go after the WW or BW what are not as big. In their world most of the women are bangin.

Damn -- my point exactly! I'm glad y'all picked up what I was trying to get across without me having to write it. Now...why would GQ -- a bastion of the 18-35 yr old white American male demographic -- choose to do a story like this in the first place??????

No NBA baller, or hip-hop performer, is going to be giving chicks like these any serious play....particularly, when they can choose from thick -- but slender -- 'hotties' of Afr-Am, Latino, Asian, mixed-race & exotic descent.

Is GQ trying to make American white males believe that rich, famous BM athletes & entertainers can only get overweight BW???? Are the editors worried that BM might be bangin' fine-ass WW??? Why is a story like this in GQ in the first place??? A story about NBA 'groupies' should be in a publication like VIBE, or perhaps, Sports Illustrated.

I'm thinking about writing a letter (via email) to the editor of GQ severely criticizing their story. What do y'all think????

I think he wrote the article for the same reason they showed Af-Ams looting in the Katrina tragedy and depicting them as "savages". They're just exploiting their point of views of certain cultures just as anyone in America may do. Some may say they're using "facts" while others may call it "stretching the truth" or just flat out lying.

Actually the article did mention that the "upper crust" of groupies tend to be white women.

The general message I got was that these women are pathetic

You hit the nail in the head. I rarely or never depend on the media for facts or figures to be honest.

Alot of Americans really need to look at more independent media outlets. All this corporate controlled media is motivated by politics.

Too bad the average American doesn't follow your way of thinking. Many Americans rely on major production magazines, television, major local news networks (CBS,NBC, etc.) and their local newspapers mostly consisted of information that is given in a biased perception many times. It seems that people tend to believe those that are most like their culture but, of course that always isn't the case.

True SoCalV, they just want to be biased and not telling the truth. That reporter does not know the world of the Black-American b-ball player.
