Deadly Black/Latino Racial Tension in L.A.

None of it is news to me as I've studied Latin America's social classes and history for about five years now. Most African Americans are shocked at a non-white group of people hating them and assume that it is just gang beef. But if you look at the big picture Latin America has mistreated blacks for centuries. Look at Telemundo and Univision, there's never even been a black t.v. show yet and this is 2006! And they have far more blacks than the U.S. so one would think that there'd be more than a handful of blacks in the upper ranks of Latin society. Their racism rivals(probably conquers)U.S. racism in the 50's and 60's.

Latin isn't a race by the way, it's a dead Roman languag/ethnicity. Latin(aka the mother language)refers to anybody who speaks a Latin language, Italian, French, Spanish, or Portuguese.

Black Latinos=descendants of African slaves brought to America by the Spaniards(who were the first to bring African slaves to America).

White Latinos=descendants of Spanish conquistadors(conquerers) or some other European immigrants.

Brown Latinos=Native Americans raped and colonized by the Spaniards.

 

Now you see what damage illegal immigration can do to a nation in less than a year. It's a hostile takeover from the Latinos, and DJ is right about the embedded racism in a lot of Spaniard culture, which has existed for centuries, only to re-surface now in America, when the Latinos gain enough political power to start a revolution.

 

Hispanic Americans come from many nations. In their ancestral countries, they often comprise many separate ethnicities. A Peruvian Indian is ethnically different than a member of the white elite of that country, and remains so w hen both groups of Peruvians emigrate to the United States, where both are ethnically different than Afro-Caribbean Hispanic immigrants. Calling all Hispanics in the U.S. one ethnic group in effect denies their actual, varied ethnicity. Hispanics in the U.S. are many people. Often, Hispanics in the U.S. who hail from the same country are ethnically different.

No, it is a stretch of social science to lump Hispanics together as one ethnicity, although it is certainly possible that at some time in the future a portion of the various Hispanic ethnicities will forge a common culture and worldview within the U.S., as have African Americans over the centuries. But that remains to be seen.

We think that the most important and incisive of these communications are the ones that came to us from Hispanics themselves, and so offer them for the inspection of our readers.

"Hispanic" is a racist term invented by the US Census Bureau. Users of that term fall into a racist trap of ethnic homogenization, as evidenced by your failure to consider the differences between an "ethnic" group and a human group united by culture, language and common history. Hispanics are a mixed people, "MESTIZOS," they are Native American, African American, Asian, and European, all in one. Quite a lot of hispanics find it insulting to call them that.

The Indigenous community need go no further than the baptism records of the late 18th century and early 19th century to find that a significant percentage of the population was Black. The scribes had many terms to describe the percentages of a person's racial lineage:

1. Mestizo: Spanish father and Indian mother

2. Castizo: Spanish father and Mestizo mother

3. Espomolo: Spanish mother and Castizo father

4. Mulatto: Spanish and black African

5. Moor: Spanish and Mulatto

6. Albino: Spanish father and Moor mother

7. Throwback: Spanish father and Albino mother

8. Wolf: Throwback father and Indian mother

9. Zambiago: Wolf father and Indian mother

10. Cambujo: Zambiago father and Indian mother

11. Alvarazado: Cambujo father and Mulatto mother

12. Borquino: Alvarazado father and Mulatto mother

13. Coyote: Borquino father and Mulatto mother

14. Chamizo: Coyote father and Mulatto mother

15. Coyote-Mestizo: Cahmizo father and Mestizo mother

16. Ahi Te Estas: Coyote-Mestizo father and Mulatto mother

 

I'm not suprised about the headline (being that I'm only miles from Los Angeles and have already seen the violence) because it's like this... If you're black, someone is going to have a STRONG hate for you in many areas of this country. There are few places you can go where people won't feel that way about you.

On a side note: I'm sure immigration has a lot to do w/ all this tension. Not saying the immigrants are doing it, but instead they're the support and voices needed to fulfill the plans of those who are hating.

The group causing the biggest problems in L.A. are the Chicano gangbangers...that is, US-born Latinos of Mexican ancestry.

I was reading about this last month. Since bm are outnumbered and are most vulnerable they have separated both groups. Heard the situation is similar in Texas.

 

I definitely agree on these points.... The issue at hand is much bigger than "Chicano gang-bangers".

 

it's only in l.a. .......if you go to the bay area blacks and mexicans have love for each other.......

the main reason there is tension between blacks and hispanics in l.a. is because THE MEXICAN MAFIA..... they believe a few years back that some black drug dealers took money from them...

ALSO another reason behind the tensions is that alot of blacks in l.a. feel like hispanics has ruined l.a. by taking lower payed jobs, cars on the front lawn, etc... BASICALLY RUINING WHAT AFRICAN-AMERICANS DID TO GET BETTER JOBS AT HIGHER PAY AND FIGHT FOR CIVIL RIGHTS.....

AND YOU ALSO HAVE ALOT OF OLDER HISPANICS WHO BLAME AFRICAN-AMERICANS BECAUSE OF WHAT THEY SEE ON T.V. AND NOT INTERACTING BETWEEN THE 2 RACES...


THAT'S WHY THE BAY AREA IS THE BEST PLACE TO LIVE IN THE U.S. BECAUSE 70% OF THE PEOPLE LOVE EACH OTHER REGARDLES OF RACE

 

I heard the same thing....that the Mexican Mafia ordered Chicano inmates to attack Black inmates in L.A.'s jails. However, there's still a big problem bet. Blacks & Latinos in L.A.

Oh absolutely. In the Bay Area and San Diego, the Mexicans and blacks get on just as good as toast bread and butter.

As much as i'd love to agree with the blacks in L.A on this, i most certainly dont. Please, our ancestors did worse things and didnt fight and kill each other. Let if go.
