Debates last night...

Obama more than held his own. As a matter of fact, Obama threw o'rielly's crap right back at him and seemed to put o'rielly on the defensive quite a few times. Obama disarmed him with his charm and o'rielly actually played nice. Needless to say, conservatives were pissed and alot of them hated the interview.

 

Karma-Al Jazeera sometimes does not show all the sides. They HATE America and condone terrorism. To report news is one thing- to want hatred and killing to continue is another.

 

It's funny how Americans cry free speech yet want to stifle those who don't toe the line. Al-Jazeera shows the Arabic side. Given their wealth it's a legitimate point of view. It is propaganda but all sides are. If we in the USA saw the actual bodies of people caught in this war like Al-Jazeera shows, maybe we'd be about more than just empty slogans like "support the troops" etc. If O'Reilly yelling at people and others on Fox News calling Obama a terrorist is OK, then Al-Jazeera should be OK too.

 

Not likely that you'll hear about much else on a political forum, but if Americans do decide to elect McCain, it is not because they are dumb, it will be a collective choice to maintain general conservative policies, as they have done in 5 of the last 7 elections.

Nothing is wrong with Al-Jazeera. Fox IS the mouth piece for the Republican party officially, Fox every morning is sent Talking Points from the RNC, its been proven, its the truth.

MSNBC is unofficially the mouth piece for the LEFT, but not nearly as aggressive as they can be and the RIGHT won't go near Keith Olbermann because they not that BULLSHIT they sell doesn't work.

How many Republicans jump on TV and blame "Irresponsible Minorities" for Sub Prime loans which has single handedly (Long with the Occupation of Iraq) brought our economy and the World's Economy to a crashing halt??? Yes Dj has a problem with anyone who has an opinion that differs than his! One thing I find more dangerous than any media outlet in the U.S. is anyone-be it liberal or conservative-is someone who has to name call and has no tolerance of anyone of a differing opinion! That is what is so great about this country- everyone has a right to express their own point of view-so there is no need to name call and be so condescending with anyone of different opinions!!!!:smt084 Just look around the world at numerous countries where you don't even have the right to voice your opinion if it differs from your government.(I.E.-many arab countries).

I love hearing other points of view. I love learning what other people think and why they think it. It's opened my eyes and heart many, many times because I would never have seen that situation from a different perspective if I didn't sit and listen.

2) I dont see a problem with Al Jazeera. If you look at things from a muslim point of view, or even a neutral point of view, you could see where they are coming from. Take a look at our country. We have competely demonized a religion because of 9/11. Was it muslims who did it? Yes! Are all muslims terrorist? No! Radical Christians are just as dangerous as radicial muslims and we have a president who wants to bless all his bone-head decisions with a crucifix. We invaded a (mulsim) country that didnt do sh*t to us and as soon as someone questions the invasion, the first thing out of a conservative's mouth is "Do you want to win the war?" (WTF?!) Maybe A/J is anti-america, but that would just make them the other side of the coin to us considering the united states is anti-muslim.

3) Nose, you were making sense until you called fox news legitimate. When you blame an entire country's financial collapse on minorities and poor people (read:blacks and hispanics), refer to a united states senator as a terrorist and call his wife his "baby mama" you lose the right to be called a respectable news organization.

And as far as Jeremiah Wright is concerned, he spoke the truth and I agree with a lot of the things he said. Now quite a bit of what he says is hookey, but what he said about the u.s. sponsoring terrorism, murdering, lying, and being full of sh*t is dead-on! Within the last 100 years our government experimented on blacks, illegally sold arms around the world, supported apartheid, and gave noriega the green light to import cocaine (INTO OUR OWN COUNTRY!) as long as he spied on castro for us, but when he was no longer useful to us we arrested him for drug trafficing. I could go on, but I think you get the idea.

Basically I take offense to anyone taking shots at J. Wright. This man is a marine (not a racist) and he isnt the first person to say these things about the u.s., he just happens to be one of the loudest.

1) No, the purpose of the electoral college is to preserve the influence of individual states, vs a federalist system. The forefathers were quite confident in the voice of the average man, which is why they abandoned the monarchy in the first place.

2) No, we have not demonized Islam, only radical Islam, and Islamic terrorism, which has declared war on our way of life.

3) I'm quite sure that you coud not produce a single link to an instance where Fox News has made those claims. If they featured a guest who made such claims I am sure they also had guest to offer a counterpoint.

4) What you are telling me is that you take offense with Senator Barack Obama, since he has publically denounced Jerimiah Wright for his hateful speech.

And jerome corsi, the author of "obama nation," has gotten tons of air time on fox, letting him peddle his book and lies without even attempting to question him about the "facts" in his book. However, everyone from factcheck.org to the washington post has said corsi is full of sh*t and his books are riddled with errors, lies, and flat-out racist propaganda. Fox is one of the most reckless news organizations on the planet. They turn their hencemen (and women) loose on the air to say the most offensive things and then when these people eventually go too far, they have to fire them or make them go on the air to apologize.

And I dont take offense to Obama denouncing what Wright said. He's a politician and he's doing what he has to do to get elected. Given white people's fear of "angry black men" and them labeling Wright as a racist it would be dumb for him not to distance himself from Wright. (You show me one instance where wright said something racist...that wasnt true!)

 

Thanks for finding those links. The guests who made stupid comments are deplorable, and at least the Fox anchor made a lame attempt to criticize when she made that weak joke about killing Obama. It reminds me of all the hate speech you hear on most networks about Bush which is let go. No excuse for that, but that is the guests on all of these networks.

I am not here to defend Fox News, though. I am saying that of all the different outlets, that is about the only right-leaning one, but liberals want it shut down, while tolerating pro-terrorist Al J.
