I don't even think Lupe should be compared to Tupac. He is in his own category. Lupe is a good look for Hip Hop right now; a much needed artist for the industry.

2Pac is a genre of his own. He is unique and talented. If it weren't for Suge Knight he would be livin in a few years and more flicks.

The next 2 pac? lol Come on now fam, Pac was a revolutionary, and a BOS (Brother of the struggle). How you gone compare dude to him? Dont get me wrong, lupe aight and all. But he aint nowhere near the same league as Tupac, Lyrically or delivery wise. Thats like comparing Malcom X to Sherman hemsely. I can understand it though. Its like everytime some new cat with a little buzz behind him come into the nba. People always going out there and comparing him to Micheal Jordan. They just got that desire to see that same greatness back into the game.

But when its all said and done. Its gone take more then a couple hot singles and a lukewarm album to be the replacement for 2pac. Believe that!

Now i have not bought a new rap album in quite a while, but i have to say i must get this guy's album. His lyricism, wordplay and insight are just deep, that is based on the few tracks i've heard, and whilst i consider it far-fetched to call him the new Tupac  , he's got a lot of talent given the lack on insight and authenticity that is present in hip-hop music today.

I couldn't agree more w/ you Cris. I do believe Lupe is the future. He is what the world needs not only in Hip Hop, but music period. I did purchase his cd and I must say it was well worth it. I really do believe what he has to say is bigger than Hip Hop.

Don't get me wrong, I have other artists I listen to, I just think this guy has A LOT of creativity when it comes to speaking to the world in a meaningful way(which many artists are not doing right now due to business influences and lack of utilizing their creativity).

He's very good no doubt, but the next Pac? Heh, I doubt that very seriously.

I recently heard Lupe interviewed on a local radio station, he was here visiting to promote this new album. I was impressed with what a thoughtful, introspective person that he is. Plus, I love his lyrics and his music!! [IMG]
