Um....Clinton had our troops everywhere: Kosovo, Somalia, other places that I'm too tired to think of at the moment. Also, maybe we didn't have a terrrorist attack on our homeland, but did our troops not get bombed elsewhere? Wasn't it the USS Cole? Barracks being bombed under his watch?

I'm tired of people "sainting" that man. He had our troops traipsing all over the globe, in places we had NO RIGHT to be.

But it was our policies which led to Japan attacking us. Japan needed natural resources to keep its country afloat. The western nations were preventing Japan from doing exactly what they were doing, taking over weaker nations and using their resources. Maybe if America didn't pressure Japan and had treated it as a equal, they would have had no need to attack us

Now there are those who say that Roosevelt actually prolonged the Depression with his New Deal policies. With the National Industrial Recovery Act (NIRA), business agreed to collectively bargain with unions in exchange for higher wages. With higher wages came higher prices. That runs counter to what happens when the economy's weak. Those higher prices were out of reach of most Americans, and demand stalled. In 1936, the GDP was 27% lower than where it might have been.

Sorry, but the rules for blacks and whites isnt the same. Unfortunately, society teaches blacks that black is ugly, evil, and bad.

You cant compare you not dating white vs. a black man not dating black women.

The only people I have ever heard say that black is ugly are black people. Now you may have heard others, but I can only speak from my own experience. I have never heard anyone say it is evil or bad. So I wonder what society you are a part of.

Read what I said. I didnt say "people say black is ugly and evil". I said society teaches us (black and white people) that black is ugly and evil.

Dont take this the wrong way, but the finer points of racial dynamics may be lost to you because youre white. As someone stated here before, society doesnt constantly remind you that youre white. However, blacks are constantly reminded that they are black and second class citizens here in the united states. Alot of blacks just choose to ignore the signs.

That may be the case now, but it definitely was not always like that. I can dial back the clock to the 1990s, and recall going to a mostly white school, where black kids were singled out and teased, because of the way we looked.

The problem that alot of BM on this site have with you dex, (myself included,) is you hard-core, anti-black, conservative views. What kind of black person says that its ok for employers to discriminate when almost every facet of life here in the u.s. is controlled by whites?

You love to talk about black people wallowing in victimhood when they talk about how past racism and discrimination effects us today. Has your life been so cushy that you dont understand that racism and discrimination has denied some minorities the opportunities that you, me, and many other BM on this board take for granted? And for you to say that "every black person can achieve the things that you have" or that those that havent are just lazy, shows the disconnect that you have with those who are not as priviledge as us.

Petty, she thinks that because she's watched the fresh prince of bel air and a few will smith movies, she knows the struggles, history, and experiences of black people.

I grew up with racism, that's how I know it existed.

Not because I watched a little TV and think I know what's going on.

That is an extremely sad commentary, who ever is teaching black children that they are somehow bad or ugly is to blame. I have only heard black people talk about it, I have not heard whites do so. I realize I was not raised in the south and I am white. But do you really think that black people who focus constantly on racist issues in front of their children and who tell their grandchildren they can't make it because they are black, are not at least in part to blame for the perpetuation of such views.

I have seen people do this to their own kids, I have watched poor people tell their kids they will never amount to much because they are poor, and I have watched Hispanics tell their children they can't do this or that because they are not white. I have not yet seen a white person tell a person of another race that they cannot reach their goals because of their race.
I never saw black people criticize their own color on the fresh prince, but I have heard it on this site, and in real life.

I am not fully convinced that putting a bunch of under advantaged children in with a group of immature children who don't understand them, is a good solution to desegregation. I don't think children were made to be raised by other children, but by adults and should be taught in a setting with primarily adult influence.

That is not possible in today's public school setting. That is why I chose to home school my children. I think we should all focus on instilling in every child a high quality of self esteem and we should teach them that the sky is the limit. I hate it when other children are aloud to ridicule the underdog or others. It happens to children in school all the time. Whomever is the least like others will be ridiculed. It is not racism, it's kids being immature.

This is why desegregation is not necessarily the answer. Why is it wrong for black people to want to raise their children in exclusively black neighborhoods and schools, and for whites to do likewise if they chose? Those children would not have been so distracted with those types of issues and may have excelled more in school. Why is is wrong to have all girls in a class or all boys? Children need to be mentored and not raised by peers.

I have a black grandson, I want him to feel proud of himself, if I found he was being ridiculed by anyone in school I would hope is mother would find a better place for him.

I also have a beautiful brunette grand-daughter, who has been ridiculed and compared to her blond blue eyed sister, as if she were more ugly. It is wrong, it is done by other people of their own race and it is NOT racism.

As a libertarian, what would you have done for the Katrina victims?

If they voted for him ONLY because of his race, why didn't Jesse Jackson win the same # of black votes back in the day? Why didn't Al Sharpten? Obama ran against Cynthia McKinney. Why didn't she win the black vote?

Because white people have a disproportionate amount of available resources as compared to blacks.

If you had actually taken the time to read Brown v Board of Education, you would know why. Or is this another one of the reading sources you censor? BvBoE lists specific grievances and hardships faced by those segregated kids.

Awe, but that is not what I said, Maybe we should look at the way schools are funded, you know, the possibility of the "voucher system". I never said the public school system doesn't need fixing.

Why thank you for the compliments, you made my evening. As far as your question, frequent your local bookstore, coffeehouse, etc. With your looks and obvious taste I'm sure you could find that educated black man in no time. He'd be a fool not to want to get to know you.

What part of the 90s didn't you like? The peace or the prosperity? LOL.

All presidents have our troops where they have "no right" (your words) to be. The question is whether it's truly in America's geopolitical interests to be there and whether the American people think it's justified. Clinton's military adventures were no worse than any president before him particularly when you consider that Vietnam engulfed three US presidents alone (Kennedy, LBJ, Nixon). And Clinton left a surplus behind, unlike Bush who bankrupted the country with his Iraq adventure.

Also it may be harsh, but terrorist attacks were overseas where they belonged under Clinton. Stuff has been blowing up over there forever. But 9/11 was on Bush's watch and no revisionism and spin doctory can change that.

Do you think we were justified in enforcing the No Fly Zone and the sanctions against Iraq? Do you think the military actions in Somalia and Haiti and Bosnia were justified? By the way, there was much opposition to Clinton's military actions in this country and around the world.
I agree that Clinton's aggression was not in any way different from other American presidents. The point we were trying to make was that your implication that his eight years in office were peaceful was wrong.
