It’s funny who gets called an “Uncle Tom” or “coon”. Not sure what Dr Adams political affiliation but it’s safe to say if he were an athlete, drug dealer, gang banger, scrub/slacker/Weed smoking Madden King, or any other pookie and ray ray type guy, he wouldn’t have been slurred like this! Thoughts?

They looked for any outlet to slander this man and they found it when he used the word "Big Momma."

If he was married to a non-white woman, he would have been allowed to slide saying that. They hate him.
(I'm sure there's people here that hate him because he was appointed by President Trump, and prior to that, Governor Pence.)
Still, it doesn't excuse the abuse that is being hurled at this man, who has achieved so much, and whose heart is in the right place.

You are spot on in your assessment. The vitriol this man is facing or has faced has nothing to do with his political affiliation or lack there of but with his choice in mate, his educational attainment, and the fact he can articulate a sentence.

He could run for President one day, nothing stopping him -- oh wait..

Seriously, knowing that he has all the qualifications as much as any other whose run, and yet, he likely never could.

What man would want to inflict his family to the vitriol and diatribe that this good man would be heaped upon with? He would be the least deserving, yet would get the most.

I truly admire any man that stands against the masses extolling pure hate. 80% of them don't even know why they suddenly don't like this guy, they just follow their leaders actions who get the ball rolling. I hope it is rolling off his broad shoulders.

We are pretty close to a man like Dr Adams being president. I take solace in the fact the society is moving forward and not backwards. At the end of the day, people are jealous and envious.

I'll just be kind and refer to him as "complicit".

    Complicit how?

Complicit in the sense that anyone who has been or currently associated with the Trump crime syndicate is just as irredeemable as the president himself.

Not to mention how this administration has the tendency to trot out token black folk simply for optics. It's really no different than David Clarke or Ben Carson.

I don’t disagree in regards to Trump/GOP in general. However, unlike David Clarke or Ben Carson who have made remarks that I would consider extreme and racists, Dr Adams in my opinion, did not. He pointed out the obvious. Similar comments were made by President Obama I.e the Philadelphia speech.

The fact of the matter is that Dr. Adams is wrong for his statements because he is married and has a family with non-bw point blank period. Go look at the individual who made the slur!

I am neither a democrat or a republican. I'm a registered independent swing voter actually. That being said I find both parties to be equally reprehensible.

I could care less what his comments were, the fact that he is associated with the clown-in-chief is why I'm less likely to trust him. So what that he happens to be black? There were black confederate soldiers too.

Of course these haters are jealous and envious. The man has done nothing wrong to invite such vile language towards him, accusations made upon him - on the contrary, he has done a wonderful job throughout his career.

Furthermore, he's hardly a 'token', I find it despicable that so many ignorantly fling that word because they don't like who hires them, despite them having an exemplary resume of educational achievements and career attainments throughout ... I don't see them accusing Barack Obama of being a token used by the Democrats.

Furthermore, he was chosen by Governor Pence way back in 2014 to be his State's top Doctor, and only vacated that position due to an exemplary recommendation made to the President, whereby he was appointed in 2017 to the nation's top doctor position.
    Token, my ass.

Token, Uncle Tom, Coon, sell out, etc... are terms used by individuals to keep black men “on code”. It’s a “crab in the bucket” mentality which a lot of black men in the US have had to deal with.

By the way, I’m to the left of Bernie Sanders and I’m a registered Democrat.

I’m just sick and tired of educated, accomplished, and high value black men being told to go sit down and shut up regardless of their political affiliation. 1st amendment guarantees freedom of speech to all!
