As I suspected, early voting would heavily favor the president and may have already put the contest out of reach for Romney. Keep in mind that at least one-third of all votes will be cast before November 6. _____ President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney are neck and neck in opinion polls, but there is one area in which the incumbent appears to have a big advantage: those who have already cast their ballots. http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/10/14/us-usa-campaign-poll-idUSBRE8991FR20121014 Check out this aggregate of polls for Ohio. Although gaining in some polls in OH, Romney has been unable to consistently crack the ceiling there. If the challenger flipped CO, FL, NC, and VA, he'd still lose without OH in his column. Throw in IA and NH (where Romney is behind in most polls) and the challenger still loses. The incumbent has a wider variety of pathways back into the White House.
Ohio governor republican Ted Strickland is taking early voting to the supreme court. And since the supreme court is mostly conservative black voters may lose. Republicans isn't a shame of using voter suppression to win elections. Then they come up with this bogus voters fraud bullshit. I never forget watching Pat Buchanan laughing about deceiving black voters. Republicans don't care about disenfranchising black voters. And yet black republicans and black conservatives are to scary to say shit to republicans.
Steven, lets hope the brothers and sisters vote and making sure Obama wins in spite of the Republican efforts to stop us.
My ballot came yesterday and I sat down over lunch with it. Have already been reading my voting guide we got a few weeks ago. I appreciate mail in voting. So much easier to not take off and drive to a polling site and less stress when you can fill out at your leisure.
Obama is holding on to a razor-thin, with the margin of error, aggregated lead in Colorado. He doesn't need the state as badly as he and Romney need Ohio, but it may add strength to his battleground state firewall in the electoral college vote count.
Romney needs Ohio to win this election. He needs to meet with manufacturing workers there and spend a significant portion of his campaign stops traveling through the state.
I managed to get the poll in time today after work to get my early vote in. I'll be so glad when this election is finally over.
I voted on Tuesday, and I was surprised by how quickly I was able to get in and out without a whole lot of hassle. Still like you I'll be glad when it's over. By Wednesday morning I'll be sick of politics no matter who wins.
I can't wait for tuesday nites concession speech Hearing Romney admit defeat will probably make me cry just as much as watching Obama being inaugurated. Gunna get me some popcorn and chips and dip and maybe a vanilla soda..and a box of tissues. And just smile and cry the whole time. It will probably be the only time I don't experience a gag reflex upon hearing willards voice.
Yeah, it's definitely worth doing it early to avoid the hassle. You have more tolerance to politics than I do...I've been sick of it for a long time. lol
Winner Winner Chicken dinner! Tuesday night-this charade will be over for good, getting burned out with political discussion everywhere I go.
North Carolina is a wash it's gone Obama people has left North Carolina. I think Obama should have fought harder for Florida, I don't feel confident in Ohio at all.
It's time to get rid of the electoral college. Looking at that map, you would think 30 states are completely Republican and that's simply not true. A majority may vote GOP in national elections in red states, but in many cases the margin is less than 10 percentage points. Tally total votes and make candidates run a national campaign, state by state, every vote counts.
True every vote counts and the poll watchers keep a eagle eye on the plots the GOP are doing to stop Blacks from voting. As I type this the secretary of state of Ohio is doing some clowning so I hope it stops as soon as it can.
