this is mainly, but not exclusively, for the democrats.. hillary clinton or barak obama and just so this post doesn't get out of control, let's lighten it up a bit... indianapolis or chicago as for me... undecided, and chicago, 31-27
I'm a democrat, Blue as hell liberal mostly, and I'm also a city boy, so my pick : Barack Obama and Chicago of course!!
Since my (unregrettable) departure from conservatism, i have come to see my political ideology, albeit unknown to me all this while, as comprising of so many philosophies and for that reason, i reject all political labels. I'm just an average thinking person and more of an intellect, like most philosophers of the past. I'm not a liberal, conservative, libertarian or anything of that sort. And if i were for the sake of argument going to adopt one, i prefer the term "progressive" over "liberal". As for "You Decide 2008", it's a given that i'm not voting for a Republican, ever again. I last did so in 2002 when i voted for Jeb Bush in the Florida gubernatorial elections. (I was gonna vote for Janet Reno but she lost in the primaries). If i were to just consider again, it'd probably be Giuliani but i hear his record on civil rights are abysmal. McCain seems like a pretentious cock to me, even though i don't mind him, plus he's wayy too old. I just do not know enough about Romney but he's trying too hard to appeal to conservatives and so i probably will not vote for him. Fuck the remaining GOP candidates....... On the blue side, i like the top 4; Richardson, Edwards, Hilary and who else.... Obama (my current favorite). Richardson seems experienced and isn't partisan, Edwards, if people listen to his message, will see the hope in him, Hilary might seem cold compared to Bill but she can make it happen and Obama, well let's just say if we had the elections today, i'd be the 1st man at the polls. So Obama is my man. Things could change, but i doubt it.
I'm probably voting for Clinton in the primary, though our state's primary is so late in the game that it will have already been decided by then. It will be interesting to see who's chosen. I have a feeling given how racist and sexist this country that one of the white male candidates will suddenly rise in popularity and get it. And it will be said that Obama and Clinton just fizzled out early. I'm leaning toward Clinton because I like the idea of the Clintons being back in the White House. They have both done admirable work for the environment, and Hillary is a strong supporter of animal rights issues. I think Hillary is a political pawn of sorts because she doesn't seem to have a clear stance on several of the most popular issues. Though, we have to work with what we're given, and I think Clinton is the strongest of the Dem contenders. I've been meaning to do some research on Obama because I don't know enough about him. There aren't many unbiased sources to go to for info. I may change my mind as the campaign goes on and I hear more from the candidates.
