A lot of the bad blood between black people and Mexicans comes out of the gangs and prison.
Every killing of a black person by a Mexican that I know of had the Mexican person / people as gang members.
Which isn't to say it's a love-fest between non-gang blacks and Mexicans but it is food for thought.
