Grant Ellis Named As The Next Bachelor

ABC's newest "Bachelor" is none other than Grant Ellis, who made an emotional exit following Monday night's episode of "The Bachelorette."

Ellis will be just the second African-American "Bachelor" in the reality dating show franchise's more than 20-year history. The first was Matt James during "The Bachelor's" 25th season in 2021.

Ellis's journey to love will continue early next year when Season 29 officially debuts.

"As the Bachelor, Ellis is eager to embark on a journey filled with romance, adventure, and genuine connections," ABC said in a news release. "He hopes to find a partner who shares his values of loyalty, humor, and a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures."

Ellis is a 30-year-old former pro basketball player and day trader from Houston, and is "a mama's boy who loves poetry and reading," according to ABC.

"When Grant isn't hustling at his job, he loves watching the Lakers, going bowling, and singing his heart out at karaoke," according to his ABC bio ahead of his season of "The Bachelorette." "After his last long-term relationship didn't work out, Grant is excited for the chance to fall in love again."

Ellis also loves to dance salsa, plans to visit every country in the world, and "wishes he could live in the year 3000 to see what technology is like," ABC says.

Like usual certain people are already against it and predicting he will choose a ww to their disgust.

 

They can go screw themselves. And brothers deserve a do over because they did Matt dirty during his season with all racial drama. This guy road should be much easier. He's gonna eat good during his season, I hope he gets to taste every flavor. If he picks a White woman that will be perfect.

 

Can't wait for half the cast to go home, just before parents weekend again.

Rachael Kirkconnell, who is romantically involved with former Bachelor Matt James, acknowledged her past racially insensitive actions and apologized. None of her behavior involved wearing blackface or liking those types of images on the internet. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

 

It's crazy that Matt and Rachael are still together and have been one of the franchise best post show couples.

 

Cummings GA!?! That's where Donald Trump and Fox News were last night for his all-female town hall that just aired at 11:00 this morning!! I just knew something was up . . . not nary a negress in sight all noon !!!!

 

You can tell the producers really want him to get with a woman of color this season. The crop of white women is decent, especially Carolina and Parisa. But they're bringing out some heavy hitters with the women of color. Beverly and Litia are definitely competitors if we are going on looks alone.

Anyone watching the premiere tonight?!? I just turned it on 40 minutes in. I don't know if the cast of contestants is as gorgeous as previous editions of "The Bachelor". I'm just hoping for some Blueblood Southern Belle's from Mississippi and Alabama lol.
