I don't know about Ron, but Perry might be a contender. He is got the money, the wacko christians, the extreme patriots, the gun enthusiast, the southern folks, some of the military crowd and ppl seem to think he is a genius economist scholar. Did y'al see a pic of him pointing a shotgun to the sky at a rally, lol
Rick Perry is a fraud that will HURT this country WORSE than Bush and O'Bomber combined.. It's Ron Paul, Gary Johnson or nothing !
Perry was Dubya's lieutenant governor. 'Nuff said. He's going to be killed by Obama's re-election team who will REMIND Americans, haven't we seen this guy before?? Right wingers constantly try to remind Americans how suspiciously 'foreign' and 'Black' Obama is, well wait until Obama's crew turns Rick Perry into a potentially worse, updated version of George W. Bush!! The only guy who can win nationally IMO is Romney, Perry is a fraud and will be exposed as such once people investigate his record. That cowboy shit drives em crazy down South, but for the rest of us Perry is like a terrible flashback from a bad acid trip.:weedman::smt080
Don't underestimate Perry, he is a serious contender. He might be the one to unsit Obama & ship him back to Chicago. Perry & Bush differ when it comes to fiscal responsibility. Most folks think Perry is much more fiscally conservative than Dubya. He sure is going to get the independent vote, tea party vote, & even some of the democrats & minority votes who are frustrated with Bama due to the economy & unemployment. The only thing that will prolly affect Perry is his Texan twag. He comes across a southern baptist preacher so he might have difficulty connecting with East part of the country, but if he picks Bachmann or Romney & tone down his religious voice, then that might cause Bama to look for property back in Hidepark.
Keep dreaming. Just his Tea Party and Christian Right appeal/ties will kill him in the general. And any enemy campaign worth its salt would be able to wrap Bush's record and policies around his neck like a rock.
Dirty little secret: the Christian Right isn't gonna vote for a Mormon, period. Romney got killed in the straw poll, he went in the front runner. That should tell you something right there. Obama is already out telling people that Obamacare is based on Romneycare in MA. The only reason he's still in it is because he's got dough.
His "Texas miracle" turns out to be minimum wage jobs. He's a racist (see his comment about America operating under a "big black cloud" and a sexist (see his comment about how we shouldn't blame his wife when he wrinkles his shirt) and his politics and religion are so extremely right wing as to be frighteningly Dominionist. The Texas Observer had a good article a week or two ago called Rick Perry And His Army of God. Really out there on a limb stuff.
Link please? Someone was telling me about that comment, I didn't get a chance to look into it, but I was told he was misquoted and he didn't not mean any race issue by it. BTW, Folks, Romney aint going to be the nominee, like Karma said what is keeping Romney in the race is his $250 million cash. To be honest this election it is not going to be a race thing, a regional thing, religion thing, gay marriage crap, war in middle east, etc..... It is going to be about employment, economy, job creation and deficit. Obama better come up with a platform that show case his acheivment to run on. He has been in the office for three years, folks are not going to buy his blame game this time around. If he wants the job that bad, he should conveince folks in the next 15months that he means business about economy. Running around and talking crap about dumb Bush will only buy him one way ticket out of DC and will make his current bus tour a fare well tour for him, lol.
In my opinion, it was what is called a "dog whistle" meaning that it gave him plausible deniability, but his intent was quietly clear if you speak racist. Rick Perry Takes On Obama
Thanx for the link. I don't know it's difficult to say, it can be taken in couple of different ways. You know the southern folks have different way of speaking. Maybe some of our Texan buddies on the forum can elaborate on that....
I'm not looking to discuss it...I'm not getting into the political or religious discussions, BUT... Rick Perry is an arrogant, self-righteous piece of shit IMO & he would NEVER get my vote.
cosign on that. he should have been getting something done as far as employment was concern day one. putting all his polictical capitol in the national healthcare was not a good start. people vote with their wallet. the national healthcare would have gone thru regardless when he done it IF he would have gotten the employment rate lowered significantly
My Texas friends refer to him as "Governor GoodHair" and think he's got about as much intelligence as a box of hair
WHen is the last time you heard any politician say the Federal government and the country are operating under a 'big black cloud'??? IMO that was not by accident. The same way that people would 'accidentally' call Barack Obama....Osama. TreePixie is probably right. You'd be surprised how scripted and calculated every word a politician utters in public is crafted and honed by his campaign strategists. WHen you have the first Black POTUS serving in office, something should tell you not to obliquely describe his leadership over the country while blaming him for our economic struggles as a 'big black cloud'. Trust, Rick Perry's homies got the message.:smt077
