Help a starving artist...

So, I'm not sure if you guys are aware or not, but I offer my services up on a commission basis regularly. Sadly, "regularly" doesn't coincide with "people regularly buying", so thusly I'm more of the starving artist instead of the regular artist with a steak on her plate at dinner time.

If you like art, and more specifically like -my- art, feel free to contact me about a commission! Or if you like something you see in my gallery http://disposableheroine.deviantart.com I will most likely quote you a price.

As for commissions, my prices range between 20 and 150 USD, depending on exactly what you want. I can do graphite drawings, colored pencil drawings, watercolor paintings, acrylic paintings, and a billion other things. Want a portrait to give to your special someone, hand drawn/painted? I can do it! Have a photo of a beautiful sunset you took on vacation, and want a canvas painting of the same scene? I can do it! Want something abstract? I can definitely do that.

I can and will ship originals to you, though you will have to pay shipping, especially if outside the US. If you don't want originals, and instead prefer a digital copy, the price will go down to reflect that. I'm not a money grubbing bitch :D

You'll both get a handmade work of art, and the knowledge that buying said piece of art is helping fund someone's college education! ...I need books and supplies! Badly. *L* I haven't even bought any books this quarter for any of my classes! *L*

Yeah, I figure this is a long shot, but I'm hoping maybe somebody out there might be interested in some of my work. If you want something original, also know that unless it's a big project (I.E. a large scale canvas that will take a few weeks at least) I don't ask for any payment unless you are 100 percent satisfied with what I've made for you. I had no problem redoing, adjusting, or starting all over with something new if you don't like it. For the big projects, though, I might need a small percentage to get needed supplies (canvases range anywhere between 5 and 50 dollars, depending on the size and quality. The paint I use (acrylic) averages about 5-10 bucks a tube, but the thing about art is that the better the supplies, the better the finished product, usually).

Come on, somebody on here must like art, or at least mine, right? My work tends to have a lot of emotion in it, and in a few hours I'll be uploading two new abstract watercolor paintings I did the other night to my gallery.

I have a paypal account, and if anyone is honestly interested I will pass along my email address or messenger or even phone number so we can discuss more thoroughly what you want!

I also have an extra kidney if anyone's interested in that. I'm not using the damn thing much and for the right price it can be yours! I've heard they fetch an outstanding sum on the black market!

    Love, disposableheroine

Hehe, I like Serendipity cause even though you can't see it, the smudges near the top are actually my finger/handprints. I thought it was interesting!

Feel free to pass along my links, ladies, to anyone you think might possibly be interested! :D

Katharina - it's ok, doll, I'll be in Germany someday. It's on my list of places I must go to before I die, right after Greece and Paris (cause I simply must see the Louvre. I must!!!!)

Louvre is full of people and you are only allowed to stay in front of one painting for several minutes ( I was told by a disappointed friend).
But I want to go there as well, I have been to France but not to Paris.

I love the Louvre. When you go, make sure you wear comfortable shoes and depending on how much you want to see, make sure to block off the appropriate amount of days. That place is beyond big. So much to see, and so little time. I spent a few hours there, and was exhausted after all the walking. But, I'd go back in a heartbeat! :D

Thanks for appreciating my work, guys. It makes me feel nice

Though..nobody interested in owning one? Or perhaps knows someone who might be? I only posted this (and on craigslist) cause I'm kinda in a bind right now. I'm soliciting everywhere trying to sell my stuff (though a couple of these I'd rather not part with) or at least get some commissions

DH, did you link your art side to your myspace-site? Anyway I will link it in my blog. Maybe we ll be lucky and one of my readers will fall in love with your art.

Nah, my myspace gets little to no traffic. Same as with my blog, though I'm about to make a post on there about it.

Though, you've given me an idea. I think I need to go organize my gallery a bit, make a sub section with just the ones for sale in it, so people can easier wade through what I actually have up for sale. A lot of the others I either don't have the original copies or I don't think people would be interested in them.

Blah. I need to get some more work done and get in with a gallery around here, but the person helping me with the gallery wants me to have 6-7 -big big big- paintings before he'll take me there. And by big I mean no less than 20X24in, and that should be the smallest of the lot! Most of my work is on a smaller scale because big canvases are so expensive

My kidney is still for sale, too -_-

    Please keep your kidney. ^^

I think maybe you should tell the prices you wanna take ( and dont be shy) at that art-site of yours, so people know what they were going to pay.
And you should go to etsy.com.
A lot of german chicks buy jewellery, bags and shirts there, maybe they wanna buy art as well?

And I found that if you make a lot of comments in other blogs you get quite popular soon. ;-)

    Want some cheap german beer?

I put prices on the craigslist ad. I didn't put em on here cause I was gonna cut you guys a discount *L* most of the stuff is 75-100usd, with one at 150 and one at 175 I think.

I guess I just need to go to ebay and shit! and etsy. and commenting on blogs like a mofo. I just gotta get this damn homework done first.

German beer...mmm. All I've had is Heineken. Is that like cheap german beer??? *L*

    Canelle New Member

yes, etsy is quite popular. do it!
No, heineken is for people with jobs, but i love it.

Cheapest beer which is still tasty is called "Sternburg" ( Starcastle), its 1.50€ for 500ml and thats great. Cheers!

...sorry, but that's exciting. If this chick is for real she likes my shit enough to buy it! That's so cool!

...I should probably mention so far I've only sold 3 paintings, and they were in a series, and all sold together. *L* And it was a commission. No one's been interested enough in my original work yet!
