Some of you know that i have been friends with a Russian girl for a really long time now, and it's finally time for her to come and visit me in the U.S. The original plan was for her to stay with me for a week or two, but she's actually decided to stay 6 months to a year with some of her friends in Michigan. She found a college out there that she really likes. Since Michigan isn't that far from Illinois, i can probably travel up there and see her during weekends or she can travel to Illinois and see me just the same. Anyway, in order to aid her in the Visa process, i'm supposed to be sending her an invitation letter, but i'm not sure exactly how to write one. I found a sample invitation letter by searching google, but i'm not sure if it's a good one or not.

Here is the link to it:

If anyone here has any information about invitation letters and how to write them, i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Thanks Chi. I checked that site before, but found it confusing. Maybe i'll check it again, and it'll make a little more sense the second time around lol.

Yeah it's a Gov website... seems to be a basic requirement for those to be confusing. The sample letter you had looks good, as long as it does not make you responsible for ensuring she leaves once the Visa is up I would probably use that.
    Good luck ;-)

Oh yeah, i thought about that part lol. Since she's not staying with me, but with friends in another state, it wouldn't make sense for me to claim responsibility of her while she's in the U.S. She's been to the U.S. 6 times before, and she says that everytime she's been here she's had someone write an invitation letter for her. Because i'm not helping her pay for her ticket or anything (she's paying for all that stuff herself) i felt as though writing the invitation letter is the least that i can do for her.

By the way, thanks for wishing me luck Chi. I'm anxious to see how everything works out between us. It should be interesting. 8)
