Any thoughts on Herman Cain running for the Republican Party nomination for Presidency. There appears to be little or no debate within the black community about this man who takes very controversial stands that most blacks abhor. He appears to be taking a different strategy than the other Republicans running. There is talk that he would run as a Third Party (The Conservative Party) candidate backed by the Tea Party Movement if the Republicans do not take him seriously. What does the people of WW/BM think?
He has no political experience in an environment that requires it badly. He is not a good selection. I would go with mitt if I were a republican but the republican party has basically gone against him with the healthcare. I love newt. That man just screwed any hopes of him winning. With friends like that who needs the left. lmao
I don't think he has enough solid principles to stand on. He seems to pander to what people want to hear and does not have much to say about abolishing the federal reserve and reducing government. He also has no idea about Agriculture industry and has made no statements regarding our food supply. Weak candidate in my opinion.
If he wins the primaries, then he'll indefinitely lose the general elections. And the biggest reasons would be... 1. How many blacks would actually vote for him with the "R" attached to his name? I'd say maybe it'll be a 20% black vote on his end, pending. 2. How many southern racist whites (majority whom are registered Republicans) will keep an open mind and vote? Chances are...they'll stay home or head to where David Duke lives. 3. Even with business credentials, he'll still have to play politics, which is something he lacks any experience and knowledge of. Plus it won't save the economy. Those are my thoughts.
He has lots of experience in running business but zero experience in politics. He never held some kind of public office, never been elected. His stance on same sex marriage, abortion- even in rape case, immigration and welfare will not help him win much of the voters hearts. There are more white people on welfare than Blacks and Cain wants to do away with welfare. He said “programs today are designed to make people more dependent rather than less dependent.” Millions of whites and Latino’s in this economy are unemployed and on welfare. They are paying close attention to what Cain said. Also like BBW stated earlier how many blks will vote for Republican candidate let alone for a tea bagger. Blk forums alreday making fun of the guy, "AMOS N ANDY UNCLE TOM, CHIFFAROBE SWEEPING, DRIVING MISS DAISEY, TAP DANCING, WHITEWASHED BRYANT GUMBLE WAYNE BRADY TYPE BLACK FACE CLOWN", so he aint gonna garn that many blk votes. Even by miracle if he gets the nomination which I highly doubt, Cain will have tough time debating with the younger, better looking, fast talking, hot air spilling, smooth operator, politician of politician, much sizzle but no steak, gifted teleprompter reader, chicago attorney, community organizer Obama. The seat is reserved for BO unless he fucks up big time or the econmoy doesn't show significant imrovement.
he was on foxnews sunday and the only real thing I agree with him on is having the fair tax. Barack tried to do that last year.
Herman Cain is a lightweight. I strongly doubt that the Republicans would seriously nominate Cain or any black man to be president.
Y'know, all this Cain-mania and I never even heard of this guy until about a month ago, and I follow politics. He's the "see I'm not racist, that black guy Cain agrees with me" candidate. Pass. On the nose GZ.
hyntsman and romney are their best chance but they ruined both by going so anti obama. This may be Tim Pawlenty's time to lose if they go with him.
He doesn't really stand out much to me. I think, like the way how they tried to paint Jindal as the anti-Obama, they will now try for the gusto and see how far he'll go.
I agree, he is got zero chance. Even if some in the party want to use fight fire with fire tactic like they try to do with that Carpetbagger smart but wacko Alan Keys during senate race in IL, Cain is not gonna get nominated. The repubs got noone, they are begging Rick Perry, Jeb Bush, Paul Ryan and Chris Christie to run. But these guys aint going to run till 2016 and your hick sounding indian governor will prolly toss his name in the hat by then as well, lol.
It's more than that. He'll have to appeal to the white racists who won't give a black a man a chance. The probability of that happening is slim to none, so with him getting the nomination would only be problematic for them.
Hot air, no steak? Historic health care bill passed, removed restrictions on stem cell research, lowered taxes for majority of Americans, killed OBL, as well as a host of other significant acheivments, http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/promises/obameter/rulings/promise-kept/, you need to get your facts straight, the man has been EXCELLENT in his 2.5 years in office in the face of HISTORIC difficulties. He has had his failures, http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/promises/obameter/rulings/promise-broken/, but overall his record is outstanding.
BBW,as I said in past threads no White southerner would vote for a brother dog catcher let alone a higher office. Look what happened to Steele,Franks, and other Black Republicans. The current congressmen will lose big next year never being re-elected. The White men would re-elect a Indian like Jindal and Hailey than re-elect a brother of sister for public office.
Who or what congressmen are you referring to, Soulthinker? I'm probably missing something here. And regarding Jindal and Hailey, you're not kidding at all. Jindal still has a 66% approval rating. That was a dip from his high 70s these past few months mainly due to the controversy of the UNO-SUNO merger he tried to argue for and failed in the Republican majority state Congress. And yet, Louisiana is still getting a lot of cuts from areas like education and he's putting that money into cocktail parties and keeping some people happy.
Ohhh! Allen West and Tim Scott from Florida and South Carolina respectively. I'm not entirely sure about West losing since he won against a white guy last time. However, I'd argue that it's more to do with anti-Democrat sentiment. As for Tim Scott, I'm unsure. But the district he's in, people seem to like him, and I doubt they'll allow a Democrat in their district at all. But we'll see what happens.
I don't think any real black person would that this house nigga seriously.
