I know a lot of people on this board aren't crazy about Obama, some of y'all seem to even hate him (which I don't get) But I hope everyone realizes how our political system works. In America we get TWO choices.

One is a President, who has had an uphill climb since before he took office. In-spite of that, He has made some impressive triumphs. and he has done it while conducting himself with class and decorum, despite the unprecedented amount of vitriol his critics have spewed at him.

The other choices are a cavalcade of an extremest (Paul), an obstructionist (Gingrich) a race-baiter (Santorum) or a political cypher who will go which ever the poll winds are blowing. (Romney)

If Obama didn't turn out to be the Great Brown Hope everyone was waiting for in 2008. He is still leaps and bounds better than the men who want to break America in order to "fix" it.

Very well stated Thump, 100% true. One can review his accomplishments in the face of historic challenges here

And for those who claim Obama has deep ties to ACORN, read below,

"As far as the claim that Obama used to be a lawyer for ACORN, that is not entirely accurate, Obama once took on a case for ACORN. But Obama was never a staff attorney for ACORN. He did not do ongoing work for the organization. He handled one case along with two other attorneys. ACORN was one of several plaintiffs. And the U.S. Department of Justice sided with ACORN in the case."

As far as the misleading video regarding the supposed $800,000 Obama gave to ACORN, here are the facts,

During the third presidential debate, McCain made the additional charge that the Obama campaign directed campaign money to ACORN, calling the group "the same front outfit organization that your campaign gave $832,000 for 'lighting and site selection.'"
Here's what we know about that allegation: The Obama campaign paid a group called Citizens' Services $832,386 during the primaries. (For comparison, the Obama campaign has spent an overall $391-million through August 2008.) Some of the expenditures are listed as sound, stage and lighting, and others are listed as get-out-the-vote efforts. ACORN has said Citizens Services subcontracted out part of the get-out-the-vote work to ACORN, but ACORN officials say it was "a small amount." The Obama campaign said it paid Citizens' Services, who in turn paid $80,000 to ACORN. The two groups share offices in New Orleans.

High gas price, jobless economy, worst race relations in decades, hiking tax on hard working individuals, tramping on religious liberty, losing Israel’s friendship, profusely apologizing to Muslims mean while the peace loving Taliban’s are killing our men & women, the dollar losing its value, more war, Iran building the nuclear weapon & and bowing down to Saudi King, yeah that's a change I can believe on!

    Amazing how these same untruths keep getting recycled and some people continue to fall for them. Just in case anyone reads the post above and is confused, here are the facts;

Obama's administration has nothing to do with high gas prices

"(The president) has very little control over gas prices," said Patrick DeHaan, a senior petroleum analyst at gasbuddy.com. "It has less to do with the president’s policies and more to do with supply and demand and the fundamentals of the industry."

Ben Brockwell, the director of data, pricing and information services at the Oil Price Information Service, said it’s ridiculous to pin gas prices on any president, Republican or Democrat, saying fuel costs are a "market phenomenon."

    Jobs

In the last 22 months, businesses have created more than 3 million jobs. Last year, they created the most jobs since 2005

Speaking of Tea Party crap, some idiot put a flyer on the store's bulletin board today about a local Tea Party meeting they're planning, & at the top of the page in redneck-ese it said, "Have you been had enough?" lmao

Of course, I took the flyer down & threw it in the trash where it belonged.

Oh! Quick! Elect the folks that people who talk like that do! That will make everything so much better!

I think there should be an education clause included in voting rights. Or some kind of pretest that proves u have a basic fundamental understanding of English language and grammar.

You have to prove you're fit to drive but any 2 brain cell genius can vote without showing that they can.

Romney- wishy washy cult following privileged white upper class slime politician……..

Obama- fast talking over his head, full of hot air windy city slicksters with zero understanding of how economy works.

Wow, with all prestigious higher learning institutions and great Universities, are these the best America has to offer?? Smdh. We're fucken doomed…

You have to be real stupid if you want to be president of the usa over getting paid millions of dollars and living the life.
That's what some of the people who keep saying is this the best we can produce do not understand or are ignoring. Yes, there is better. Just like yes there are better teachers but there is no effing(or very unlikely) way a top rank scientist is going into grade school with low pay. There is no effing(or very unlikely) way any one that is qualified would take a job where people can openly insult them like this for example or where you will have people trying to kill you over taking a nice job that you can live the life.

    That's the truth.

Even if the best did do the job, what about the million of non believers who will not do anything. One man can not fix all of these problems.

Nice post loki. It's one thing to disagree with President Obama's policies but it's quite another to completely make up facts and talking points then regurgitate them to individuals who are automatically going to believe them without question because it's another anti-Obama "fact" that is anything but.

The Faux news and the right wing radio has succeeded in defining who President Obama is to their viewers. They know that facts are overrated and will repeat the same lies over and over again until their viewers start quoting them as facts. Bill Maher classifies those viewers as living in a bubble where facts don't matter, and only source of news if from Faux and Right Wing radio.
