How many here are liberals?

Mostly a liberal here. I am conservative on a couple of issues: I am totally against gay marriages and fully support the veterans (those who have served in the military). But I feel the richest people need to pay higher taxes and the poorest to pay lower taxes.

I am a yellow dog democrat. I vote a slate ticket. Why? Because the way the system is set up, we have two choices. No matter who is elected, they WILL tote their parties line and "get in line" or their party will make them ineffective. So since the democrats vote closer to how I would want, they get my votes.

Michael Savage: Now if I were to meet a man with the genius intelligence, articulate dialogue, broad topics of expertise and passionate delivery as he, and he found me attractive, I may be compelled to compromise my state of celibacy.
I don’t always agree with every position upon which he opines (it would be difficult for any two people to do that), but he even makes topics that I normally wouldn’t find interesting or maybe even distasteful to be riveting. I’m a sucker for a man who can use his tongue expertly. Sorry, I couldn't resist the double-entendre. It’s just the cold medicine talking. Nothin’ to see here.

I'm a Republican, definitely. But I'm not totally conservative. I lean to the right, but I am by no means radical or even part of the stereotype. I have a few very liberal views, a few moderate views, and mostly conservative views. My lady is a liberal. One of the things I love about the two of us is that she's an open-minded liberal and I am an open-minded conservative. She and I can discuss and debate politics openly and with courtesy and respect. That is rare among liberals and conservatives, especially among bipartisan couples. Interestingly enough, her liberalism is part of what attracts me to her: it backs so many of the qualities in her that I so adore. It by no means, however, changes my convictions...it simply expands my mind and my heart to even greater flexibility.

I believe in market socialism, universal health care with a single payer system, six week mandatory vacations for all workers, reproductive rights and don't think it's anyone's business when and why a woman decides to get an abortion.

I don't believe in God, the death penalty or waging unnecessary wars that cost trillions of dollars to maintain.

You tell me what I am.

I am a very liberal person, as liberal as they come, and I always will be. If this were 1968 as opposed to 2008, I’d probably be the only member of the Black Panther party who had a white girlfriend, LOL!!! Now I do have very liberal views and I also said back in 2000 that if Bush were elected then this country was doomed. I see myself as a very subversive and sarcastic person and I believe that this country is slowly turning into a fascist state.

The right-winged government wants to control every aspect of our lives and watch us suffer while they count their billions in “black gold”. I am a huge supporter of free speech, civil rights for ALL Americans, and I want the government to also be held accountable for its actions. I am not supporting Sen. Barack Obama just because he’s black, but because he is the right candidate for the job

I think that Barack unlike previous politicians has tapped into a level of rhetoric that is bigger than just scoring political points or to show how tough you are among the heavy weights. He reminds us of the core values American people have and what and where the country is right now and that my friend has no color.

Whether you are black or white or any other race, his message goes past the color lines and divisions because it speaks to the heart, the mind, and the soul. This is what is attracting a lot of people. That connection that reminds us all that we are all part of this and that we can make it better because we all have a basis of decency.

    Even worst....

"Libertarians are Republicans that like to smoke weed and get laid" - Thom Hartmann

Nevermind he'll legalize alot of stuff delusional young people like to hear and be anti war, he's also anti-government and as long as Black People aren't equal you should have no interest in somebody that wants to push the "reset" button on the country and start fresh with no income taxes, no medicare, no help with your higher education, among other things and guess who will be at an advantage with a social reset of the country -

    WHITE PEOPLE

You can been an independent and that's great, however PLEASE be more INFORMED than you ARE and that's not to say Obama is a better choice hardly...

Americans don't take what little vacation they get and big businesses LIKE that. That's why productivity has doubled in the last 10 years, yet wages have been stagnant for the last 30 years!

Contrast this to France that has almost everything you just mentioned and FUNNY how almost every Western European country has THE SAME THING and when some moron American confront you with this socialism nonsense, you wack him across the head, will you for me?

I tend toward the liberal view of things. Many of my previously held ideals have been challenged the more educated I become. Many of the things I once believed about a variety of issues have changed since I became a mother.
