    i'm just me.

my faith comes before anything. i'm not a big fan of mccain, obama, or hillary. i hate abortion. i support my troops. i believe in taking care of the environment, but not to the point where human life is at stake/danger. i believe in the right to protect one's family (aka, owning a gun). i support stemcell research with limitation. i believe the media is extremely dangerous to the wellfare of our country. i have been registered as both democrat and republican, and have voted for candidates in both parties.

i'm not one to hate labels, but i do hate that people assume they know everything about you by the label you choose for yourself.

call me what you want, but like i said...i'm just me.

If Faith takes control over your life (faulty thinking IMHO) then Job #1 should be TAKING YOUR RELIGION BACK FROM NEO-CONSERVATIVE REICH WING! They only pander to you as a control mechanism over the population as you think "God" will some how save you from the ILLS of man.

Actually GOD wants you to STOP the ills of man and not point fingers telling people if your not holy you won't be saved kind of bullshiet that gets on my last nerve.

how is my faith being the most important thing in my life, "faulty thinking"? if someone is serious about their faith...shouldn't it be the number one thing in their life...along with family? i really don't get how this flaws my way of thinking. i think most people you speak to, who have any kind of faith foundation are going to tell you that it's one of the most, if not THE most important thing in their life.

and as far as i know...i didn't point any fingers in my last post.

Faith is fine as long as its put into perspective. (No, Im not discounting the importance of faith.) For instance, conservatives are against abortion, stemcell research, and social programs.

I have never understood that. For agruement sake...lets say abortions were outlawed and woment didnt get illegal abortions. With the huge increase of "unwanted" and neglected kids that will be the result, how can the government then turn around and say,"Even though we made you have it, we're not helping you take care of it."

Basically, your faith shouldnt lead you to make an illogical decision.

(Not to sound crass, but the lives of those here and now...even those who make dumb and selfish decisions with their bodies...are in greater need of care and compassion than the unborn.)

Did I say you pointed fingers and Jelly Bird said it correctly.

Faith should be your guide that's fine, however it shouldn't lead you to create a bigger mess by saying whatever was wrong to start with should be made legal (abortion). As JB said you should FIGURE out where to put these unwanted children, they'll come from POOR mostly Black and Latino families. Those with MONEY will fly out of the country to get their abortion, so basically you didn't solve SHIT...

That is one fight faith will LOOSE for better or worst, they should focus on something more important POVERTY!

    dj,

jellybird and i have had this discussion before - about overturning abortion, and how the government shouldn't have to raise these "unwanted" children. i agree that it's not the government's responsibility to raise kids. however, there probably wouldn't be a need for abortions if people valued sex a little more. sex these days is everywhere - it's not valued, it's just something to pass the time. back 50-60 years ago, you didn't have this need for abortion, b/c you didn't have a bunch of unwanted pregnancies, due to people having random sex. today it's nothing to hop in the sack with somebody you met at the club. no one sees sex as this sacred, special thing anymore. it's just an act. do i dare say that God created sex for marriage?

that's where faith ties in to this issue. i don't think faith is going to create a "bigger mess" or "lose" this fight....humans have no self-control. we give in to what WE want...in to whatever is going to satisfy US. even if you take the faith out of it for a minute....you have to admit we are a self-centered society. we are selfish...it's all about "me"...what's in it for "me"?...what can "I" get from this? that's one of the biggest faults of our society....we put ourselves first instead of thinking about others. and we're all guilty of it - me included. it's time for a change...we need to wake up before it's too late. if we as a society would put God back where He belongs, we'd all be better off.

There was no need for reproductive rights 50 years ago? Really?

Are you familiar with the methods women used prior to Roe v. Wade to abort their pregnancies? Look in your closet and pull out a metal coat hanger for a clue.

    haha

So tell me, how does one go about making sex "sacred?" Do you recite John 3:16 before or after cunnilingus?

    Co-sign.

Also, don't forget all of the women who put their lives in danger by getting abortions illegally in this country before Roe vs. Wade.

There are already soooo many neglected and unwanted children in this country right now, we should be concentrating on helping them.

People on the pro-life stance rarely give answers that make sense.

The Bible doesn't denounce sex at all.

You aren't all of a sudden going put "value" as you say on sex. If anything Women put TOO much value on sex and in turn that's why America in some circles is called SEX PRISON.

In Germany prostitution is LEGAL, they have proper sex education and guess what? They don't have 1/2 of the sexuality related problems WE do.

Its our overzealous religious population with power and money that in turn puts laws on the books that make no sense and sex as a whole is still largely a taboo subject.

Men should be more responsible, that's the fault of our culture more than anything.

But women should take all precautions necessary as well, they don't...

Women are quick to call themselves perfect beings and mult-taskers, okay remember to take that fucking blue pill then, get the shot when your doctor send you the reminder card.

Sex is an adult decision if you want to make an adult decision then you have to behave like an adult when making that decision, just that simple.

Better sex education and the removal of the "taboo" status on sex will cut down on abortions by more than 1/2.

You mean the same France that has had a very high unemployment rate for a long time during the reign of the socialist? Personally I glad they woke up an elected a conservative government.

You come across as a deadbeat looking for others to subsidize your existence.

How exactly has this helped France? All I hear about Sarkozy is his lavish vacations and sexual exploits.
