"Leader of the free world"...JUST WORDS. Politicians are not leaders. POTUS is only a corporate owned mouthpiece.
"Voting in america is like looking at 2 maggots at the bottom of a trash can and deciding which one you want to eat"...Dick Gregory.
Out of respect for my ancestors and their struggles; and out of respect for who I am, I wouldn't frame my lips to even speak that way about the first African-American President. I don't agree with everything he does, but I'm a Democrat. I'm not going to be so blatantly disrespectful to my heritage and to my party.
Our past struggles don't change today's corporate-owned political reality. BOTH parties are Wall Street property.THERE ARE NO SIDES.. This is no time for emotions. Obama doesn't give a FUCK about you. If our ancestors were denied the right to eat shit..would you eat shit just to honor them?? I wouldn't.
:smt038:smt038:smt038:smt038:smt038 The major reason why Black people are behind is because we worship the sacred cows.
Drop it down a few notches - would you? I understand your point of view, but your method is making it difficult to discuss with you...
Its the sacred cows. Too many negroes are still stuck in 1967 singing We Shall Overcome. You can't just for a politician simply because he's black. Not when there's nothing but problems all over the world today. Granted the other candidates were just dunces...problem is today, people are as emotional as ever. This and other BS (like the jack-legged preachers) is why the Back Community is extinct. Many of us are so fucking clueless.
Not much room between preachers and the politicians. There're a reason the Elite's don't tax churches. They keep mofos for ever stupid.
It is always easy to complain and a whole different story to do something about it.:smt090 That explains a large part of the American public to the point.
This is also true. Believe me, I will be running for office once I am done with college. edit: darn multitasking!
My company just won a $10 million dollar contract over the next 5 years. When I get the notice to proceed, I will be quitting my current job. At the end of this 5-year project, I will be running for City Council. So, I'm reading what you guys are saying - and I'm not really impressed. It's easy to stand on the sidelines and criticize - which is exactly what you guys are doing...
lol i was wondering what the hell you were talking about. on a side note, does your college offer DC/Virginia area co-ops, where you get to work and learn in the nation's capital? I remember PSU having those for students interested in politics. I'm 28 now and still wish I had a chance to do something like that for credit.
I believe we do but If I were going to do that then I'd be doing the state representative or senator co-ops. I had to do co-ops for engineering. It is interesting though. You learn how the real world is very quickly.
Niccas don't vote, niccas don't go to school....yeah, that'll work!!:smt119 If you hold your elected reps ACCOUNTABLE, you'd be surprised how well democracy works.
Corporate interests control everything. Look at how much they're actually accountable for. You think Bernie Madoff was the only one responsible for that ponze scheme? He was just a fall guy. The bailout is prime example of how government is basically just a little bitch for corporate america. They lost billlions upon billions of dollars and ruined the country but not only did they fuck up they got rewarded for it. There's very little to no regulation on outsourcing and the fines they have to pay for environmental violations is usually less than a 100th of what they earn monthly so its all a joke.
