anyone hear about this experiment carried out years ago with monkey. they lived on an island, with a huge mountain in the middle, with monkeys living both sides. i don't know what the experiment was testing, but the researchers left bananas lying around for the monkeys......but the monkeys didn't eat them. so the researchers unzipped them, and left them lying around. the problem for the monkeys now was that they were covered in sand........until one bright monkey decided to wash it in the sea. then another copied, then another. at the same time, the monkey's on the other side of the island - who couldn't see these monkeys, nor had any figured out about washing them, all went to the sea to wash their bananas. the theory is if a large enough group believe something, soon the rest of the world follow (same theory as the tower of babel - without the downfall of the people obviously ) so my theory is if we all believe and live our lives like race is not an issue, then soon society will stop to see it as an issue. what do you think?
I think it's a good idea and heart is in the right place. In the end people [the individual] has to see it in their own hearts before true change is possible. I been around of 30 plus years and it gets better at times and we seem to take two steps back at other times. Many people older than me believe it's getting worst but I see this issue as a "glass half full/empty" thing.
I see it the same way myself. Deep down, if people really believe that something can or can't work out in a society, then the outcome of their belief will reflect their interactions within that society with one another.
