Sorry I wasn't disliking what you had said. I was disliking the harsh reality of the fact people will indeed lose their lives and more.

Yes,it is sad indeed. It would be nice if some people take precausions during a big storm and it is frustrating when some don't.

Thanks, DNY. Fortunately for me I don't live near the coast. I do know a lot of people who live down there, and I hope they got the heck out of there and someplace safe. My prayers have been going out on behalf of everyone who's down there. It's crazy scary.

Kevin Hart calls on his famous friends, including Beyonce and Justin Timberlake, to donate money for victims of Hurricane Harvey:
'I'm going to start a real challenge':

In the wake of the devastation left by Hurricane Harvey, comedian Kevin Hart has issued a challenge to some of his fellow celebrities to donate relief money.

The actor took to Instagram on Sunday night and shared a video where he calls on fellow A-listers to provide relief aid to the thousands of people in need.

'Serious moment right now, I've just been caught up to speed with everything that's going on in Houston and this s*** is unbelievable,' Hart states in the video.

'I think we've participated in a lot of challenges on the internet. Some meaningful, some meaningless, but we've all done 'em. I've been a person whose partaken in several of them.

'At this point, I'm going to start a real challenge. I'm challenging a lot of my celebrity friends to follow my lead and donating $25,000 to Hurricane Harvey to the Red Cross.

'At this point this is a serious matter. I think that people are in bad shape and they need help. I'm going to lead the charge and step up this way.'

Hart then challenged a number of celebrities including Beyonce, Chris rock, Justin Timberlake, Steve Harvey, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Jay Z, Jerry Seinfeld and Dave Chappelle.

'I think when you do it, you all should tag somebody else'.

Hart isn't the only celebrity to come forward and donate thousands to help those affected by the powerful storm.

Country singer Chris Young said in a Twitter video that he created an online fundraiser for the Red Cross and donated $100,000.

I love when celebrities pay it forward. Shows they have a conscious and are actively engaging in their communities/worldly affairs. If I had the means, I would definitely do the same!!

    Praying for Texas!

    Agreed
He's right. Just yesterday I was hoping that some in the state like Cowboys owner Jerry Jones (I don't know if he has already done so) would be stepping up.

Why wasn't Houston evacuated? Mayor defends his decision NOT to order people out his city because 'you can't put 6.5million people on the road'

By Associated Press and Ann Schmidt

As thousands of Houston residents tried to stay above rising floodwaters Sunday, the city's mayor defended his decision not to issue evacuation orders ahead of Hurricane Harvey.

Houston, the country's fourth-largest city, is incredibly susceptible to flooding and since Thursday some parts of the city have already received 25 inches of rain and some suburbs have gotten 27 inches.

The National Weather Service issued a forecast saying the city could get as much as 50 inches, which would be the highest amount ever recorded in Texas.

However, as emergency services received thousands of calls for help, Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner defended his decision not to evacuate the city.

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner (pictured Sunday) defended his decision not to evacuate the city in a press conference

'That is dangerous. When you combine Houston and Harris County, you literally cannot put 6.5million people on the road.

'If you think the situation right now is bad, you give an order to evacuate, you are creating a nightmare. Especially when it’s not planned.'

He cited Houston's attempts to evacuate in 2005 for Hurricane Rita when about 2.5million people tried to get out of Houston, which caused traffic jams and left 100 people dead.

'In this particular case, the hurricane, we were not in the direct line,' Turner said, according to Buzzfeed.

'It is true we anticipated a lot of rain, a lot of rain. But the best place for people to be is in their homes.'

Texas Governor Greg Abbott had urged people to flee from Harvey's path, but on Sunday refused to point fingers despite conflicting advice with the mayor.

'Now is not the time to second-guess the decisions that were made,' Abbott said at a news conference in Austin.

'What's important is that everybody work together to ensure that we are going to, first, save lives and, second, help people across the state rebuild.'

Turner said Sunday that authorities have received more than 2,000 calls for help with more coming in.

He urged drivers to stay off the roads to avoid adding to the number of those stranded.

'I don't need to tell anyone this is a very, very serious and unprecedented storm. We have several hundred structural flooding reports. We expect that number to rise pretty dramatically.'

Rescuers had to give top priority to life-and-death situations, leaving many affected families to fend for themselves. And several hospitals in the Houston area were evacuated due to the rising waters.

'The breadth and intensity of this rainfall is beyond anything experienced before,' the National Weather Service said in a statement.
