as a single parent who sits at home alone night after night i understand loneliness, but have come to enjoy my 'me' time and fill my time with things that i enjoy to do. as i know that you are not stuck at home at night ymra, have you thought about joining a sports team or taking a class in a subject that you're interested in so you can get out there and enjoy the company of other people while you are away from your family...???

 

If it's just case of having moved and he's feeling a bit isolated I'm confident his loneliness will be forgotten in a couple of months.

Go to the local pub, squash club, communtiy club or wherever and start on the road to making a few pals, maybe try a class or join a team as Tarshi said.

Whatever your thing is basket weaving, mosaic making, crochet or paper craft dig in a make yourself a hobby.

So chin up, thing's are always better than they seem.

Of course dude... you might enjoy your company but there's only so long you can enjoy it for. When do you see the fam next?
Honestly I can't give any decent advice... try and see them on skype as much as possible. Even if your wife is busy, get your kids on. They'll love to talk to their dad as often as they can! Apart from that I agree with the other girls, take up a class you're interested in, whether it's a language or art or whatever.
Loneliness is a horrible feeling. I really hope you don't feel like this for too long.

All that 'be happy alone' shit is bad cliche. Humans are social creatures and while some alone time is healthy, you have every right to desire the company of others..... it's in your nature.

The dudes (so far) ain't into what I'm into. And I'd say 95% of the cats I work with are married.

....the single dude's are about football, football, football....this place is football crazy. The onlything I do now is sit around with my room mate and watch tv.

Its crazy cuz dude and I are so much alike.

I am alone almost all the time when I am not at work. I live alone, I go shopping alone, I vacation alone, I usually exercise alone. And I quite like it, especially the living alone part. But sometimes one just needs the company of the opposite sex (for obvious reasons!)

 

but it quite easy for women, much more difficult for men.
