To some, it is easier to seek and explore interracial dating and relationships within the confines and acceptance of a sub-culture or community.

You'll find many who'll explore interracial dating and interracial relationships within the swinger, gay, BDSM, transgender, fetish parties, cuckold, and other 'alternate lifestyle' communities.

Many of these communities -- themselves discriminated against to varying degrees -- are more accepting of interracial dating and interracial relationships within the community or lifestyle.

Have you ever wanted to explore an alternate lifestyle to pursue interracial dating, or have you already done so?

    * Please be respectful to those whose opinions or lifestyle do not reflect your own.

I have not explored "alternative lifestyles" in the quest of an interracial relationship, in fact to much of middle America, interracial is, in and of itself "alternative".

In the south and in Atlanta, I have come across more than a few gay men and women who've had problems [as in they did not like it] with straight interracial couples. So I'm not 100% sure of the level of acceptance there.

That's why I think this site is needed.
    Acceptance.

    right. what he said.

anyway the town where i live doesn't have much "underground" to even check out. (or so I think!)

although I just had a funny image in my head of me going to a transgender club/group/party whatever and saying hey where are all the terrific black guys?

Yes, one might think that individuals who are discriminated against will be more tolerant and will fight against discrimination, stereotypes and narrow mindedness, but unfortunately, that's not the case.

Many blacks - themselves discriminated against - are not accepting of interracial relationships, and - themselves victims of racism - utterly racist against non-blacks

Many gays - themselves discriminated against and persecuted not only during the Hitler era - are members of neo-nazi organizations - Rosa von Praunheim made a real good documentary about that

And there are also many women - discriminated and historically excluded from areas of social and political life - who are now trying to flip the script by demanding "women-only-zones"

Too many who consider themselves to be "victims" are too eager to find someone who they can deem to be "lower" in the pecking order.

Besides that, I don't believe that belonging to a so-called sub-culture makes you automatically a "better" person, and I also doubt that it's possible to ascertain someones opinions and awareness of social or political issues by analyzing someones sex practices

Asking us to be respectful of the cockhold fettish is a lot like a story I once heard. A couple was having a dinner party when their dog brought in a turd from the cat box. Everyone saw the turd sitting on the dinning room floor. Everyone smelled the stench of the turd sitting on the dinning room floor. But no one mentioned it because it wasnt polite dinner conversation. So, everyone sat there and ate their dinner in a dinning room that smelled like cat shit rather than mention there was a turd on the floor.

Most of us have been living a perfectly normal, healthy, happy lifestyle that includes dating/marrying men who are different ethnicities. And most of us know what it is like to be stereotyped. Anytime a black man and a white women are together, it HAS to be about the sex (the stereotype).

The whole cockhold fettish is racists. But somehow we are all supposed to make polite conversation and not mention the turd sitting on the floor we are all smelling?

I know what you mean, flygirl. Its ridiculous when racists try to say we should be tolerant of intolerance.

IRs make up 2% of the population, about the same as other alternative groups, so IR is an alternative and one doesnt have to try the others to be in an IR, IR is. . .
