IR around the 6th century BC

Just came across these frescoes, discovered in Pompeii, a city founded around the 6th century BC. I thought I share them with you.

 

Yup, nothing is new under the sun.

 

Those are absolutely incredible! I am not suprised though that in Roman civilization that happened. It was quite common compared to some other ancient societies.

 

People have been "mixing" as long as people have been around.
In western cultures there is no focus on this type of thing.
In fact, there are many people that believe black people did not pop up until slavery and before that time we just ran around the jungles of Africa.

I do believe that the more people know the truth about race relations and the fact that before MTV, pro sports, and the American slave trade, people of different races lived, worked, played and at times slept together,
the better off we'll all be.

Was it perfect in the "old" days? No.
But the more you know, the better off you'll be.

when anyone wants to comment on ' the downfall of society' especially in Europe they bang on about how great it was before "immigrants" started coming in
If anyone said it to me, I always said that people from Africa and Asia have always come across to Europe, in the same way we have gone there
But was always shouted down
I now have some proof!

Great Link... but those relationships weren't called InterRacial Dating Relationships back then. They were just called Relationships. The concept of 'RACE' hadn't come into play yet.

Adam and Eve were the 1st couple of Differing Complexions.

Adam was made of the Dirt of the Earth... which no doubt would have given him a Skin Complexion that was Brown.

Eve was made from his Rib... which no doubt would have given her a Skin Complexion that was more on the Pale side.

Now... just Think of ALL the many, Many, MANY Children that they had and ALL the many, Many, MANY Different Skin Shades they came in.

Just look at ALL the many, Many, MANY Different Skin Shades that People of Mixed parentage come in today. They range from looking completely "Black" to completely "White" and every Off Shade in between.

It's that Simple. ALL the Answers of Humankinds Lineage can be found in the Bible... Believe it or not :wink:

I'm not sure I necessarily agree with your interpretation of the racial or pigmentation origins of Adam and Eve. I would assume that because Eve was created with Adam's rib then they must be very similar in make up and even DNA (if you want to take it literally.) I believe the mixing of races began at the Tower of Babel. The following passage from the Bible supports my theory.

"Now the whole earth had one language and few words. And as men migrated from the east, they found a plain in the land of Shinar and settled there. And they said to one another, 'Come, let us make bricks, and burn them thoroughly.' And they had brick for stone, and bitumen for mortar. Then they said, 'Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.' And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the sons of men had built. And the LORD said, 'Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language; and this is only the beginning of what they will do; and nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them. Come, let us go down, and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.' So the LORD scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they left off building the city.' Therefore its name was called Babel, because there the LORD confused the language of all the earth; and from there the LORD scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth." (Genesis 11:1-9)

I interpret this mixing of languages and scattering of people the beginning of the racial divide. That's just my theory.

The Bible itself is a collection of dreams, thoughts, theories, accounts and interpretations by men. I like your theory and by no means do I discredit it. I only offer this to you to ponder...

It would be interesting to all those IR haters if Adam and Eve were the first documented case of Jungle Fever. :wink:

but you've kind'a sorta made my point for me. The World was ALL "ONE People" with ONE Language. Language was Changed and Confused but NoWhere does it suggest that People ALL came in One Skin Tone or Complexion.

Like I said... just look at ALL the many, Many, MANY Differing Skin Tones and Complexions that People of BiEthnic or MultiEthnic Backgrounds come in. There is no ONE Colour/Skin Tone or Predominant Skin Colour that Mixed individuals come in.

You also furthered my point with your assertion that Adam and Eve would have been alike in DNA. They Were... just as a Family of Mixed individuals that come in varying Skin Complexions.

Black Men and White Women produce Children that can look completely "Black" as though both parents were "Black" and they can produce Children that can look completely "White" as though both parents were "White". And everything in between.

Oh and also... I think that they do know that Adam and Eve were the 1st case of Jungle Fever... that is why the Bible has been so tampered with. But somehow through DIVINE Intervention for sure... they haven't been completely able to be successful at obscuring the Messages within.

The most controversial topic... is that of Black Men intermingling with women of other colours, cultures, and backgrounds. No other topic on the face of the Earth causes such heated discussion. Not Gay Rights. Not Abortion. Not the Bombing of Indigenous Countries. Not Poverty and Starvation. No other subject causes the HEAT that discussing Black Men intermingling with White Women does. Why do you think that is :wink: ?
