the liberal Aspen Project recently met and came up with the idea that the American Dream is dead? Is the American dream dead for you and yours? What is the american dream to you?
Yes, but I need to know what constitutes the "American Dream"? Is it a "real" dream that only americans can dream? Do you dream it while you sleep at night? Can you dream it during the day (asleep or not)?
I think the American Dream has moved beyond America. It has inspired people around the world to achieve their dreams. I believe the American Dream is alive and well. I LOVE AMERICA! and I want to pursue my dreams and goals in America. And that is what makes America so great is the freedom for people to pursue their own American Dream.
well, originally it was by immigrants coming to this country, now it is for those who live here. I am talking about the American Dream, not another countries dream. If they have one, then thats cool but I am only speaking of the american dream.
Luci: are you new to the US? It says you are in Chicago, and yet you have never heard of the American Dream? Hmmm, ok i get it you dont want to have a discussion just want to start an argument. nevermind to ya then mate
Sigh :smt018 I'm Nigerian, and I go to school in Chicago. Apparently, all americans know or should know what the "American Dream" is. This implies a standard definition. I just wanted to know what that definition is/was.
thats not the topic, Luci. I asked a question, i didnt say what it is because it is different for everyone who lives in the US or immigrants who come here looking for it, whatever it is. read the initial question, it was a question. If you dont wish to answer it then that is your choice friend, it is a question for those who wish to answer it.
Lucifer are you a freemason or are you hell's angel? You sound like a guy that practices Wicca or black magik.
Ha! Good call. I'm just a guy who dabbles into the...subtle sciences. That's all. Now let's get back on track.
Lucifer...was trying to clarify something Tucker...stir minds on the initial definition of the American Dream...no matter what it is to each one of us, it has an initial definition right?...well, I least I think that`s what he thought...but who can really know Lucifer`s dark inner thoughts? The American dream is alive...to me it really is the opportunity to achieve something when u have the skills and the will! The "American Nightmare" is just as alive...and well (for instance, just ask some marines in Iraq...or maybe actually, ask their mothers, bcoz they might not be there to answer anymore).
It is alive and well for me as well. since my family has been here 400 years, there is no dream per se, just that my American Dream is to raise my children in freedom and liberty, safety and health, opportunities to try different areas of education and building of life and wealth and being able to give to others.
