I'm a Floridian! and I will be voting for him over that republican Californian Greene.

I think our governor has a better shot at winning the senate race though. I am pretty sure I will be voting for Crist in the general election.

As a former resident of Florida, I have to agree. I initially sat out our gubernatorial election in '06 as the Democratic candidate was weak, and I thought Crist was a clone of dubya's elder brother. I was actually wrong, he's done a reasonably good job to the extent he could and is more of a moderate than I thought. If I were still resident in Miami, I would vote for Crist, although I'd be glad if Meek won.

Would he (meek) be the first black senator from Florida?

If he wins, he will be. I am certain he will not. Jeff greene ruin all chances of a democrat winning. Democrat are excepting for us to lose this race. Charlie crist is also going to cut into the democrat vote as well. It is just a lose lose all around.

Homeboy does not have a chance of being a Senator since Gov Crist is going after the Independent and Democratic vote. It is more likely for a White Hispanic to be elected higher office than a Black-American man.

No, it isn't. It didn't matter what democrat was going to run for that seat. They simply weren't going to win. Meek just has had the unfortunate problem of both greene and crist.

  8. I personally believe Meeks has chance beating Greene in primary and CRist in general.. Crist is still tied to corruption scandal of Jimmy Greer and those folks running Tallahassee...

Surprised you? You must not be in Florida to not see this win.

I don't know why he had won but,he better work very hard to run for Senator for Florida. I believe it when he wins in November.

The word on the street is that Meeks cannot win against the Cuban Rubio. The Democrats think they have a better chance with Crist. If this happens it will create a firestorm with the blacks in Florida. The Democrats would rather vote for the Independent who is a shoe in as far as they are concern than go with Meeks who will lose big time with Rubio who hasa the full support of the Cuban and other Hispanic communities in Florida.

It really depends on the democrats. We out number the republicans. That's why you saw our state go blue for obama. Crist isn't going to win. He will fade to the background because of money issues. I am not sure if meek can win because of Rubio and his extremeness. If Meeks goes one on one in a debate with rubio, he'll mop the floor with him. I am pretty sure rubio will not go one on one. The other issue is Meeks has a system since he actually had to fight someone. Much like obama and clinton, the fight only made the deomcrat system stronger in turning people out.
