He gets a bit too biased and out of control himself. But his presence is needed to counter all the right-wing hacks on cable TV who had gotten free reign to bash Democrats, liberals and progressives. So, yeah, I'm a fan. He is not the best journalist on TV but he may be one of the smartest.
I just wanna know if Olbermann will criticize the Obama administration like the Bush administration if bad things happen during his Presidency
Yeah, i like Olbermann; he's funny. I wish he's a little balanced sometimes, but the hacks on Fox News could care less about "balance", despite their claims to the contrary, so fuck it!
Fox News is not that right wing. Bill O' Reilly treated Obama very very fair and sticks up for him on his program. He just dosen't like the high taxes. And anyone who likes high taxes is just stupid. Fox News is only biased to missing white women syndrome. I asked Bill O Reilly about it when I met him at a dinner event at the Richard Nixon Library. He says he gets pressured by his bosses and he can't do anything about it.
Well, if the Obama administration starts illegal wars, appoints a bunch of incompetent political operatives to important positions in the government, wipes their collective ass with the constitution at every opportunity the way that the Bush administration has, and Obama proves himself to be one of the most inept and incompetent Presidents in history, I sure hope that Olbermann and anyone else with the slightest bit of integrity criticizes them. But IMHO that's a pretty unrealistic hypothetical. I think that anyone with common sense knows what side of the political spectrum that Olbermann is on, and that he's not going to hold an Obama administration to the same standard that held the Bush administration to, and he shouldn't have to. He's not a real journalist. His show is an opinion program, so it's not his job to be impartial and objective. It's a shame that the generation of people who have grown up with this pathetic incarnation of the mainstream media can't differentiate between straightforward reporting and editorializing. However, that's probably due to the paucity of genuine "newsmen" on television these days. Besides Jim Lehrer and Charlie Rose, I can't think of any real journalists who currently have shows on television. I'm a huge Olbermann fan, and I like the fact that he and Rachel Maddow are on the air to combat the insidious right wing propaganda that has permeated the so-called "liberal" media for years. Hopefully, we'll see more progressive hosts get exposure in the future because those two aren't enough.
I love Rachel Maddow too, she's great. I wonder why she chooses to look like a boy... but she can carry it, she looks cute anyway!
Yes. The Bush White House is such a failure! He is the worst Republican out there and president ever!
I've listened to her Air America show in its various incarnations for the last three years, so I was ecstatic when she got her own show on MSNBC. I never thought that would happen. As her for her look, I think the TV make up artists have done wonders. Before: After:
